also used to go round my neighbour's house and play Shenmue on the Dreamcast

    that game was fucking awesome
I still have Shenmue. Never finished it (what else is new?) and I remember it being a little slow, but it was ambitious to say the least.

My first game ever was Doom which I would play with my dad (he called it "shoot em up") and we would play every night. I also remember playing original Mortal Kombat on arcade, I forget where though. My first real system was N64, which I got for Christmas 1995. I loved it, especially when I got Goldeneye for my birthday. I would always go over to my friend Matt's house and play it with him, he beat it on every difficulty and I was amazed. As I got older I got more into PC gaming, built my own computer in Feb 2003. I also had an original Xbox and remember playing Halo and Halo 2 well into the night many times. I now have an Xbox 360 and PC. Even better, my fiance loves to play too! Ive now got someone to play with, so Ill probably still be a gamer when Im 80 years old.

My little sister's first video game system was the N64 when she was about eight or nine. I have it now, can't recall if I ever paid her the $50 or not.

I also just remembered those little mini-arcade games. A close friend had Frogger until we left it in the drainage tunnel we used to hang out in. Still have no idea if a bum took it or the tunnel flodded and carried it away. I can't say I ever owned one, but I recall other friends having them in the early 1980's. They were neat for the time, and were the first "handheld" ports of arcade games I recall seeing.

After playing shenmue for the first time my friend and I spent days shaking leaves out of trees and trying to catch them with our fingers.
