I want some gore. Not tons, but enough so that people's limbs can come off when a fucking grenade lands next to them.

Never played it, I got tired of WWII shooters, and for a good reason.
I always play W@W. Pretty much the only thing I play and will continue to do so until MW2 comes out
I honestly cannot wait for MW2. I probably have more hours logged on MW than I do looking at porn.
The customizable kill streak bonus, the amping of point value for a single kill to +50, the bonus points for kill streak, stopping a kill streak, environ kill... all... look... marvelous... and the new HUD is sexy.
Dunno, they didn't show the game type being played, but I assumed since the dude was racking up major kills to get his kill-streak reward that it would be something else, plus, in the video he ended someone else's kill streak and got a bonus, and I don't think high kill streaks are attainable in S&D.
i hope there are zombies
Zombies is dull after about 30 seconds

No more 'Host ended game' bullshit. Fuck yeah.
did he throw a fucking knife at that sniper?
thats so awesome
He sure fukin' did
Knife throwing and no host ending the games? I just came.
Holy fuck.
Im not sure if you guys noticed, but he could have picked up an AA-12. Which is a fully automatic shotgun with a 20 round drum mag and almost no recoil.
This thread is making me have to change my underpants a lot...
I also noticed there was an AUG too. What gun was he using throughout the bulk of the video? Was it a SCAR? I couldn't tell if it ever showed. I also liked the riot shield idea. That's going to be sick.
Im pretty sure he has some variable of a SCAR. As far as the shield, Im willing to bet you can only use it with a pistol or small SMG like a Skorpion.
As for the AUG... meh. I dont know how good it will be in the game, but IRL, they are just awkward.
Can't wait till MW2 comes out...I'm still playing CoD4 haha.
So here are some features that are rumored to be added by the beta testers but not yet confirmed by IF or Activision

That list was comfirmed fake by Infantry Ward. Some random blogger made it up.
Here is everything that is new:

2: A suppressor on a shotgun will not work IRL. Thats one of my main complaints about MW2. They are getting more and more less realistic. Like mainly that and the heartbeat sensors. There is no such thing as a heartbeat sensor on a gun.
But since I saw that snipers cant have suppressors online, that leads me to beleive that the suppressed shotty thing may be false. I hope so.
Ok I saw a screen shot with a silenced SPAZ 12 for a pickup. Well what the fuck. Fucking stupid. I know its a game, but one of the things I always liked about the CoD series was the realism. And MW2 is part of the CoD series regardless of what you say.
Well hopefully the no suppressed snipers online thing was false then.
I don't think they meant for the heartbeat sensor to be an actual attachment for the gun, although I will agree that its getting ridiculous. I loved CoD4 because of the realism it brought to online gaming, but now they're throwing in all this Splinter Cell bullshit thats just going to turn it into a modern day Halo. Fucking sticky grenades, heartbeat sensors, throwing knives, dual fucking wielding... Its getting out of hand.
.. sticky grenades are real. I don't think they're being used in the same terms you think. I think more along the lines of, sticking them to vehicles, like the sock bombs in WWII. Halo doesn't have throwing grenades or heartbeat sensors. I don't really see the comparison at all.
Of Course sticky grenades exist. But you don't see modern day soldiers running aroung with explosive socks covered in axle grease.
I understand this but:
This. I've never heard of any Marine Corps groups or even most well known special forces or civilian contractors using hardly any of these devices. It was cool when I played Splinter Cell, because those things made sense. I mean, I know this isn't Americas Army and by no means do I think it should display 100% realism all the time, but some of this stuff is getting out of hand. Try and think of a single application where throwing knives would be a logical choice of weapon in a combat zone. And no, its not a one-hit-kill IRL unless you really know how to throw a knife like a goddamn champ. I mean maybe I missed that day, but knife throwing and dual wielding was not part of my training.
The CoD games have never, ever, ever, ever - EVER been about hyper-realism. Not ever. They're arcade shooters, like Timesplitters. Your soldiers can take shots and shots and then not die, alll you have to do is hide behind a rock and wait for the red to go away or pick up a med-kit.
CoD: MW wasn't even very realistic. Since when am I allowed to decide if I want to carry more ammo into battle, or have my bullets do more damage? Did I miss that part of basic, where I was told that my perks would be variable on how many people I kill in a firefight? Shit, I killed 3, I get to use the satellite for enemy tracking.
The games have been about having fun, and providing a balanced challenge online. Which they have (not counting the M16 or the Thompson M40). I'm sure the heart-beat monitor will be used in the SP campaign, giving the item an excellent frame of reference as to the inclusion in the multiplayer. Possibly even the throwing knives - and there's no gaurentee that they're a 1hk anyway.
I'm not looking forward to the riot shield, however. It mucked up CS1.6 pretty well.
I see exactly what you're getting at and quite a bit of it I can agree with, but I guess all-in-all what I was trying to say is this:
It seems like they're taking CoD4 and just slathering it with a bunch of uber-cool shit to spice it up again. Yeah, that can be said about every sequel to every game, I know. But theres just something about CoD4 that I feel should be left alone (yeah yeah nobody is stopping me from playing CoD4). I could deal with it if they were going a totally different direction with the game, but they're not. They just dumped a truckload of tactical coolness on top of it. This seems like it should be an expansion pack, or a mod, not a new game.
In the long run I'm sure I'll love the game regardless. I just tend to nitpick at shit before its finally released.
Until the game is released and I play through it thoroughly I'm not going to judge it.
While CoD hasnt always been super dupre realistic on the damage side, the weapons and other crap you can use have always been realistic. (Except the Nazi Zombies guns lol)
CoD has always been one of the more realistic games.
What I'm trying to say is, the use of the more unconventional items probably becomes more defined in the single player campaign, therefore making the inclusion of items in the multiplayer not as far-fetched.
Most of the crazy stuff is in single player, but MP still has suppressed shotguns, and dual wielding. Which are pretty far fetched. One if just straight up impossible, and the other isnt practical.
Shotguns can have suppressors, though.
