Uh, google it. Takes about 5-10 seconds. You can get shotgun suppressors.
WTF. I need to check into how that works. I cant see how it would work with anything besides slugs.
But still, they are NEVER used in any military role. The Navy has designed silent rounds for them to use, which leads me to beleive that the shotgun suppressors arent very effective.
I remembered on the IMDb there was this big dust up when No Country came out about the silenced shotgun, which is where I found out about it.
That's the first I ever heard of them. I'm not going to say I've ever made a suppressor because they are illegal. But I know how to make them and the conventional design. Just won't work with anything but a slug. I need to find out how these things work.
I think part of the suppressor goes back into the barrel, and they have air-vents to get rid of the burning gunpowder gas. The wax wad that packs the shell doesn't dissipate until like seven feet out of the barrel anyway, so the scatter-shot doesn't really come apart until it leaves the barrel.

Yea but the shot gun wad isn't too big for the barrel like a rifle or pistol. For example a .50 cal barrel is .5 inches. But the bullet is .51 inches. It gets crushed and fits into the rifling making a very airtight seal. Shotguns not so much meaning that gas can get through the sides. I'm gonna do so e research on this later.
I think this is why they're so unheard of and impractical. The shotgun suppressors that do exist are only minutely effective, cutting the sound down by 5-6dbs. And I think its for the very reason you mentioned above, the fact that there is little to no seal, so a much more significant amount of pressure still exits the barrel before it can be dissipated by the baffling.
They're mainly used for hunting in the UK, apparently.
I think the riot shield will be either awesome or piss me off. I will be great for getting into areas where a team has started to camp and has it locked down, and on CTF. But it's gonna be the morons using it all the time that will piss me off.
Everybody thought the same thing when they annouced the 1.6 update for CS, now its hardly even seen in any PUB. The riot shield noobs will probably disappear pretty quick.
I imagine it'll be fairly evenly matched because they can't carry a primary weapon, so its not like they'll be untouchable.

Like I said, I can see it being useful, but it will be abused. Ill wait till I see it till I pass my final judgment though.

Considering the original Call of Duty was a PC only game, they should have prioritized it to come out on at least the same date as the consoles. Even if it does come out for consoles first, there would be no way in hell I would pick it up for my 360 or PS3 before I get it for PC. PC 4 Lyfe Yo.

Sadly yes. I remeber when the map pack came out for CoD4, M$ paid IW to release it like 3 weeks early on the 360. PS3 owners were waiting for another 3 weeks.
Hmmm...Now I feel devoted to making a game that will come out on PC and have a 2 year later release on console, blame it on technical difficulties.

Just hit the PS3. And is going on the Game of the Year Edition. The only company that seems to be sticking to their guns is Rockstar, as no GTAIV DLC has been announced for the PS3, except some car packs, maybe.
The only PS3 DLC exclusive content is a few time trial maps for Mirror's Edge.
I'm not going to complain. I like DLC, bunches. I'm glad that it makes its way to the PS3. Microsoft is getting a few exclusive maps, though, from what I read.
I prefer the idea of PC releases being delayed a few weeks to not being released at all due to piracy paranoia.
I've already pre-ordered it, and because I'm feeling introverted these days, it'll be a nice distraction from living on the couch.

Now activision is deciding to up the PC SKU price from 50 to 60 dollars. Oh I will be pirating till the price goes down to what everyone else asks for.
