Default Kill your data with a space ship

Lose/Lose is a video-game with real life consequences. Each alien in the game is created based on a random file on the players computer. If the player kills the alien, the file it is based on is deleted. If the players ship is destroyed, the application itself is deleted.

Sorry this was (sorta) done already. The deletion aspect is cool, but whoops, there goes my hal.dll

I clicked the lose/lose link and the fact that they claim to "raise bigger issues" with this game is a complete hack.

yeah that was my reaction to the "bigger issues" raised at first too, but after thinking about it I thought they had a point.

then again I'm a fruit-loop liberal so I suppose I'm a sucker for that kind of thing.

except that in this game when you shoot the alien ship corresponding to your file you REALLY delete it.

Oh, I know. In Inner Space, there were individually named file, and they wouldn't get deleted upon destruction, however, it had a lot more depth and was otherwise an actual game. While this game has a novel idea behind it, it's nothing beyond that, just an idea, and no flesh upon those bones.

Still, I congratulate them on making an entertaining virus, in the loosest sense of the term. Most just piss on the computer's grave and call it a day.
