the only mage that i couldn't take out in a couple shots was the leader of the elf enslavers. otherwise, it is rather remarkable that there aren't many tough mages or mage bosses aside from arguably some demon-casters, considering how much stress is placed on them
If mages get in your way, you just force field them so they'll stfu
I always thought the Deep Roads to fucked up like that by Darkspawn, or years of abandonment.
Or both
Again see my long post how neither of those possibilities are consistent with the game's lore.
the darkspawn developed bunker busters. clearly.
yeah
while i do take my games seriously, little things like this don't really bother me.
its a road.
edit: i mean dont get me wrong, little things in games do bother me. like the 3 people controlling trillions in mass effect would have bothered me (if i played it) and various other small things in games do irk me.
but like i said before.
its a road.
so I finally caved in and bought the new PS3 (gave the old 80 gig as a gift to my friend) and this game and I can't wait to play it
well mpr here are some fun tips:
If you're going to make a rogue the only weapon talent you really need is momentum so strive to get that first.
If you're going to make a warrior you should go for the dual-weapon tree as well since a) one of the NPCs is a better tank than your warrior will ever be b) mages make the best PC tanks c) two-handed weapons do significantly less DPS than dual-weapon d) archery is a joke
If you're going to make a mage the game is probably going to be really easy for you
^les rouges should also get the dual-wield talent that lets them equip any one hand weapon in their off hand rather than just a crappy dagger.
ah okay, so they finally got off their asses and fixed that. about damn time.
oh that was 24 days ago...
Mages and Rogues are way better tanks than Warriors. Whoooooooooooo game balance!
3 mages and shale = best party ever
granted, pure arcane warriors are just auto-attack machines... but then again so are warriors since they never have enough stamina to do anything but taunt every so often if they tank. and shale tanks better than anything without having to worry about gear.
I tried 3 mages and shale but it's just not for me. Way too much micromanagement. I preferred to replace one of the mages with a rogue so I could get all the treasures and have some ridiculous DPS that I didn't need to manage at all. Three mages is overkill anyway.
nermy is biased in favor of rogues because his first character was a rogue
I wouldn't recommend starting out as a rogue because I had no idea what the hell I was doing and my rogue sucked until halfway through the game when I figured out how to use a rogue properly.
Meanwhile mage is easy mode so that's a good way to start.
I got this game for christmas. I'm still on holiday, but as soon as I return I'm going to play it. Then there will be words for me to say. Yes, many great words indeed.
The first full expansion for DO:A has already been announced, DO:A-Awakening. It's slated for release in mid-March for $40. That seems a tad bit expensive, and I'm not sure I'm going to bother with it quite yet.
What the heck is it?
Dragon Oge: Arigins
Shhh, it's a surprise!

Oh hush you.
Ha. I'm at work, I'll look at it when I get home. But if it's a 10+ hour expansion, I have no issues dishing $40 for it. I think my cut off is 6 hours, as a lot of new titles cost $60 for really short campaigns.
True. I hear they're introducing a new villian and region (I heard part of Orlais, but I could just be mixing up facts with rumors). In any case, it's starting to sound robust.
No, you're right about Orlais. We'll finally be able to see part of DAO's version of medieval Aquitaine.
Ok, this game is the shit.
I'm a fan.

anyone know if i can move my save games from one install to the other?
i dled the game, but would like to buy and reinstall cos the game is awesome and then i get the dlcs, but i dont want to lose my current chars.
also lol i still haven't completed this.
I need to move my saved games too. I haven't checked yet, but there's probably something like a "saved" sub-directory somewhere in the game's directory. You probably just have to copy that over into the place where you've newly installed the game.
I haven't completed DAO either. I just got to the final battle and sort of temporarily lost interest. I should just finish the damn thing though.
lol scyld im feeling the same as you. I finally got it and just started and i'm so =/ about the betrayal.
KOTOR > Diablo II > Dragon Age
D2 is not a real rpg
Hmm, never tried out KOTOR but i've heard much about it, now you've sparked my interests. I'm going to go 'get' it now.
