Granted, RvR is pretty fun at the moment, but it's far from competitive, and I just don't know if it will be able to keep me interested in the long term.

MMOs would do well to learn from Guild Wars, imo. These types of games have a lot to offer in terms of complexity and depth of gameplay, but always seem to screw up the pvp catering to RPers and poopsockers. War seems to have gotten some things right (pvp right from the start, bolstering etc), but still follows the stale old MMO mold in many places. I just hope that they improve on their system.
I hated arena in WoW. The RVR in WAR seems more like you're partaking in an epic story rather than some xbox live e-penis competition.

WoW pvp was shit regardless; it was pvp tacted onto a pve system that catered to RPers who expected to be "better" at the game due to spending massive amounts of time grinding gear. RvR is fun, I'd just like to see something for guilds/friends lists, or even PUGs, to form coherent groups, get on vent and play. That's way more fun than running around a scenario with randoms, or losing because the other 2-3 parties in your scenario are idiots. I'm not talking about penis waving, just something a bit less random/casual. War already does casual pvp fairly well.

You can do premades with up to 6 people. The guild interface is GREAT, though the overall social interface could really use some polish.

And in the end, your guild can build a keep and defend it against other guilds. That and city sieges are the more substantial RvR as far as I know.

Keep in mind that you're comparing the "hardcore" endgame WoW content to the more casual low level WAR content. Remember that all the low level content was more casual-oriented (5 man dungeons, battlegrounds-- no raids, no arenas).

    PANDAS
If you don't like them, then get the fuck out.

Yes, you can join a scenario with a group, but it's not just your group versus another. Haven't made it to the siege RvR yet, so I can't speak to that.

And I'm actually comparing Guild Wars HA and GvG (although more of the latter) to War. WoW was a horrible game imo.
