AP teemo is the most fun i've ever had!

Lol, I'm getting a wee bit tired of losses where I'm level 17, a teammate is level 18, and everyone else is levels 14 and below.

I'm starting to understand the whole DotA-rage thing now.

i either shroom every bush on the map, or i make a hell corridor (especially if i haven't seen them grab an oracle). some pathway will get about 20 shrooms piled thick inside

Speaking of oracles, any comments on proper placement of them? I mean you're talking about sight wards right? Or something else?


Also, I'm going to plop $20 down for the box. It comes with ALL the original heroes PLUS $10 in RP. You can't beat that.

Even if I only play the game a couple months it's worth it.

Oracle is like a mobile invisible sight ward that you wear. It costs 400g.

As far as sight/invisible wards go, I place them around dragon, and bushes near top or bottom to avoid ganking.

Oh... ah.

Well I don't have to worry about warding the dragon (sounds like something... different), since we noobs aren't aware of dragon.

And I think I'm going to try Teemo out tonight and exploit my fellow players' ignorance... maybe introduce them to the school of hard knocks.

Oh and in a game I won last night, the other team's Teemo hardly planted mushrooms at all. I don't remember triggering a single one or any of my teammates doing it either.

But that's going more down the physical damage enhancing route... which is tempting, instead of the magic damage route which I'd need to do if I wanted to use Noxious Trap to full effect... hrmmmm...

If you were to buy the Champions Bundle, which just includes the 20 original champions, you'd still pay $28.



And as the cherry on top, I think that if you already unlocked some of the champions that come with the bundle with IP, Riot will refund them back.

i am terrible with AP teemo

that said, just build AP. Malady might help you farm, but you'll need to be in attack range to hurt anyone. Actually, you can probably get away with it at your level if you can kite them effectively enough... lord knows teemo's a hell of a kiter. Regardless, it ONLY helps toxic shot. If you build straight AP, it increases the nuke of blinding shot, ups the damage on toxic shot and takes your base 400dmg shrooms and skyrockets it. Top that off with capped CDR, and you get shrooms every 13.2 seconds.

teemo can be built into a dps champion, but, honestly, he's rather lackluster when compared to every other ranged dps.

Because sometimes the server has a headache why can't you understand that it's not that the server doesn't WANT you to log onto it but the server just doesn't feel like it right just then

if i could force the server into letting log in, i would definitely do it

Because they are updating to a new patch. New champ, etc. Every other Tuesday/Wednesday this happens.

ya srsly, the night i started the game it went down, then the next day it went down. and then i believe two days later it went down for a third time. and i've tried to log on every maintenance day too.

game is not about killing the other team (although that helps)

it's about breaking the nexus

push harder next time. If you were fed early (or if you were carrying - who were you playing? what was your k/d at 20 minutes?) you really shouldn't have had too much trouble pushing hard down mid with your team

I know. I try to push, but honestly I'm still not THAT great a player that I get so many kills I can solo push. I'm still a noob among noobs.

During that game I was Tristiana, so yeah I was a bit of a carrier and I guess that accounted for something. My k/d ratio at 20 minutes was either infinity (ERROR DIVIDE BY 0) or I died once... I don't remember how many kills I had except that it was above 1, and I had more assists (though in a lot of those assists I probably did the most damage). I tried to get my team to push the center lane where we cleared all the turrets. I said, "Let's push center lane." Or something. They didn't. I got them to do it later, but it was too late, never mind that we had a feeder who gave the other team 11 kills and was probably the reason why their Ashe was 5 levels higher than me.

Another time, I think I said this already to TOGS, I was pushing a lane with someone playing Cho'gath. We got to the turret, and that moron decides that it's time right then to Recall, at full health. I was simply floored. All I could say was, "Dude why did you recall before we destroyed the turret?" or something to that effect. He didn't say anything.


What the hell am I suppose to do? Maybe sometimes I am a little too intent on killing other players (aren't we all?), but I never have the actual goal out of my mind. When I kill the other players, it's in the name of guarding our turrets, taking down their turrets, or at least in the name of denying them farming for xp in order to help ensure the two above goals are easier.

Next time, I'm just going to tell my team: "Remember, the goal is to destroy their turrets ultimately to get to their Nexus. But do your utmost to stay alive until we're actually attacking their Nexus."


I want to think I'm just unlucky, but maybe I do something that prevents us from winning? What it is I can't imagine...

feeding your enemy doesnt really correlate directly with their levels

certainly not enough to justify being more than 1-2 levels higher. 5 is definitely due to them staying near mobs more than you.

i once had a tf i laned with who wouldn't stop autoattacking the creeps, not even trying to last hit. I asked him why and he said, "I like farming." I said last hitting gives the same amount of gold and is better strategically. His response? "Oh, I don't like doing that."

about 10 minutes later he said his mom told him he had to go to bed and then he quit

also since we're on the topic, anyone have any tips on how i can last hit more effectively with a character like zilean? i play him a lot and find making gold on him a pain in the dick compared to the majority of other champs. i mean i suppose the fact that he's not AS item dependent as most champs kind of balances it out but there are still times where i want more gold than what i'm able to get.

generally i spend every bomb harassing the opponent during laning.. and his autoattack is slow and hits for practically nothing..

well... smite can kill stuff.

you'll get the feel for hit autoattack for last hitting, but don't rely on it too much. Zil's lane presence is too strong and it's a good strat to hide in the bush and bomb the fuck out of them

when you gain a few levels, you'll reach the point where you can doublebomb the caster minions. bomb the middle one, rewind, then bomb the middle again. It's a reliable way to hit three minions each wave.

make a point to keep an eye on enemy waves are pushing. If there's a fat wave that's gone past the river on your side, run over there and bomb the fuck out of it. At higher levels (once you've got an AP item or two), you can also double bomb the wolf and the wraith camp as you pass by them for more free gold.

I don't this his aa animation is that slow. At first, he hits for as much damage as a non-specced ranged carry anyways. past that point, it's pretty rough but if you can get a kill or a couple assists, you've made up what you'd have lost on the waves you weren't last hitting anyways.

try playing zilean and let me know if you can spare bombs while performing the only role he excels at pre level 10. if you can, i dont feel as though you're harassing hard enough

the only thing i buy that affects mp5 is meki's pendant, at least for the first 5-6 levels or so. spamming bombs on creeps seems retarded because i run out of mana just hitting the enemy champs* and keeping them off xp/gold. i usually just tell whoever i lane with to focus on last hitting and i'll snag a few here or there but mostly rely on generated gold until later levels when i can run and bomb jungles and doublebomb entire waves of minions. not to mention zil makes a pretty solid kill stealer and has more finishing power than most people care to admit so i agree with you on the last part.

well you said to bomb minions and i find in practice its a lot easier said than done

i swapped from blink + teleport to blink + clarity and i had mild success generating more gold last game, but teleport is pretty fucking important. although since i rarely take damage its usually only mana that's making me recall.. so maybe this setup is better.

pro zil's will double bomb caster minions while enemies are beside them, for the double bomb harass + farming all in one go

i have way too much lag to ever pull that off

ok so... does every champion have to harass effectively while farming?

does zilean have use his bombs more frequently to harass other enemy champions than to farm? why not use time warp to help your laning partner harass while you farm with time bomb?

that said, a 4 second delay bomb would be a pain to farm with.

no not every champion has to harass. some champs are designed with little to no harassing capabilities but strong lategame potential (aka tryndamere before level 6). others are designed with incredible harassing power but lacking significantly in other fields, kind of like how zilean is great at harassing but is generally awful at 1v1ing.

spamming time bomb every cooldown drains your mana too fast in reality. you're generally going to want to spare only a few bombs that dont directly target an enemy. time warp is usually an escape spell in the laning phase unless your opponents overextend, and then you just snare bomb reset bomb and hopefully he's dead by then.

the whole thing about zilean is the range on his bomb matches or exceeds every other targetable ability in the game afaik. you can't run from it or dodge it. as soon as the bomb hits you, you're taking 100-900 damage (depending on level and build). so basically, every time you get near zilean, you take that damage and the zilean runs away before you can do anything and comes back as soon as the bombs off CD.

note these are just my observations, i could be playing zilean completely wrong but i've been pretty effective so far (at least in the bracket i'm playing in)
