Thread: [CBRC] Incorruptible #27

I am reviewing Incorruptible #27 under the premise that this comic is for new readers (as stated by the solicitation). First off, I was under the impression that Incorruptible was about Max Damage. Yet Max makes an appearance in 4 pages total. We barely get to meet the guy before he teleports away. Another thing I find off-putting about this comic is there are too many different characters for a "new reader friendly" issue. I don't know who is important to the overall series and who's just important to this issue.

I thought the art was decent to mediocre. There wasn't anything that made me cringe but at the same time there wasn't anything that made me want to seek out Marcio Takara's other work.

For long time readers this issue might be great (who knows) but as a new reader I thought this issue was pretty awful as a jump on point. There was pretty much nothing that made me want to keep reading, even though I am interested in the overall concept of the series.

The last panel has pretty much no impact since new readers don't know what that cloud is even supposed to be. I double checked the beginning of the issue when the cloud is first mention but there's no explanation of what it actually is. For all I know, that meteorologist was being hyperbolic about how toxic the cloud is and it's just some acid rain.

I give Incorruptible #27 a 4/10
