    Default [CBRC] Your choice week

I guess we all were busy this week and no comic was suggested for the group review. DaiTengu suggested reviewing a comic from our pull list this week and I think that's a great idea.

Review any comic from your pull list this week. You can review multiple comics if you desire.

    Journey Into Mystery #635
(Part 3 of The Terrorism Myth arc)

    Writer: Kieron Gillen
    Artist: Richard Elson

Nightmare has forged his ultimate weapon - With the help of a certain diminutive Norse God. Oops. Will Daimon Hellstrom let Loki get away with it? Fear Lords? You want Fear Lords? We've got seven of them! Get your Fear Lords here!
    Review:

For an issue of Journey Into Mystery, the story was surprisingly on the boring side. Don't get me wrong, this issue wasn't incredibly bad per se, but compared to other issues of JIM, this one missed the mark. In this issue Loki, Leah (basically servant to Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death), and Daimon Hellstrom (Son of Satan) attempt to rescue people who are trapped in their own nightmares by aptly named villain, Nightmare. In the first half of the issue the group fights Nightmare indirectly by saving people from their nightmares. This gets old quick. The caption boxes are filled to the brim describing these people that Loki is saving. Gillen is often text heavy and I usually don't mind because he's also usually incredibly witty, but not so much here. The second half of the comic is about Loki directly confronting Nightmare. This part is much more interesting but not enough to save this issue.

Artwork by Richard Elson has been consistently good for the past few issues. Faces look expressive and magic looks... magical. I have no complaints about the artwork.

Overall I rate this issue 6/10
