    Default God I'm Bored

Well, I am really fucking bored. For the past year I have spent almost every single night hanging out at a friends apartment doing drugs with him, his roommate and another friend. Every night for a year. Well, 4 days ago I decided that enough is enough and I am quitting my drug use and cigarettes. But I find that the hardest part of that is finding something to do. I alienated pretty much all my other friends and I can't go back over to my buddies apartment until I can control myself. If I go over there now I'm just gonna start up again. So I'm just wondering stuff like how often you guys go out each week and what you do, I need to figure out how to keep myself preoccupied without falling back into old habits.

I'm kinda having the same problem. Its hard to go back to hanging out with people sober when all your friends do drugs and all you used to do was hang out with them and get high. Just find some people you're cool with that don't do drugs and start hanging out with them. Literally just call people up that you're friends with but don't hang out with and tell them you're quitting drugs and want to hang out with sober people and see if they want to chill. Thats what I started doing and its working out.
It also helps to find some sort of hobby or sport to put all your energy into when you're not doing anything. Good way to meet people(if its a sport usually sober people too) and something to making your boring time productive.

Well, what did you always want to do or try before you went over there every night? Now would be a good time to do and try those things. You could get a job, too, that would be something that you pretty much have to do to keep you out of trouble at night.

Also you may or may not have alienated your old friends. Call up the people you were tight with and just basically tell them yeah, I've been a dumbass for a year and I'm really sorry. An apology can sometimes go further than you think and if not, live and learn, that's about all you can do.

The job situation will have to wait a couple weeks because I'm going to Arkansas for a week soon to visit a buddy in the USAF and no one will hire me and then let me skip my first week of work.

I guess I'll have to see who I know that still lives in the area, but sadly most of my old friends are in the military or away at college. And some of them are big enough douchebags that I don't want to hang out with them even if it means I don't hang out with anyone.

I've been starting to seriously consider joining the military just for something to do, I know that sounds stupid but it's not the only reason just a part of it.

If im stuck in with dothing to do i do a lot of drawing, i like designing my own tattoos.

Or you could just go down your local bar and meet people....or buy a wife online

i moved out of the province and into the country, but then I'm a bit of an oddball.

the bes thing to do is get interested in something and pursue it. It's tough at first, but try, I don't know, learning an instrument, or taking dance lessons or learning another language - basically anything that will fill up a block of time in your day. Try going for walks or exploring strange music or stores you like. Go outside and do something, anything, to get your mind off the habit and do that instead.
