Default "Let me tell you about my life"

It's good. It's content. I'm 19, I've graduated into college and dear god do I like it.. or at least i think i do. That is, I lve the social side of college. Evverytime I go to a lecture I love it, but I find myself going less and less for no reason at all. Why am I becoming bored?

I have a girlfriend, and I like her. I'm cautious, I don't believe everything she says, I maade sure I'm the one to say "I love you first" - it hasn't happened yet.

My family is wonderful - I'm bi but I could tell them that tomorrow and I think they wouldn't care.

So why? Why right now do I fell normal - perhaps happy - but have this "thing" in the back of my head that feels like guilt and sadness together - like depression.

Logically, I am the happiest I have ever been in my life.
    Emotionally, I certainly am not.

What am I even asking here?

Honestly I was bored half-way through reading your post. Add some excitement.

Otherwise since this is your first semester of college most people do go through a mid-semester doldrums where the partying is pretty average, lectures are old as sin, and basically everything and everyone slows down.

Hey congrats, you're normal. A bunch of happy people aren't completely satisfied with their lives. If you were satisfied, there wouldn't be a reason to improve yourself, so take that as your cue to go out there and make tomorrow a great day and do something to advance on a long-term goal.

    Get involved with school.

Change your major to something that invigorates you.

Well, college is an intense time, and the fact is that you are not through puberty at only 19. I cannot presume to really know what's going on, but I would venture to guess that these two factors are playing a role in it. Remember that if you are having difficulties, your college has resources to help you.

I believe he is just drunk and introspective.

Everyone gets in a funk. Most of my friends are exiting college now, and are scared shitless because we were all raised being told we were going to change the world, that each individual has a purpose and that purpose is to shake the masses and truly do something great.

It's tough to accept that you might just be filing papers until you're dead, the only person you leave behind being the cabinet that you would converse with day in and day out, so much so that you gave him a name - Tiddlywinks. Mr. Tiddlywinks.

But no matter how hard you tried, or the tears you shed, he would not respond in kind.

That's the problem with this stupid generation and as well as that of our parents'. We think we shit gold and that the world would be lucky to wipe our asses after we're done, and that's largely because we're taught that as children.

If we make any sort of difference in our small corner of the world, whether that be our neighborhood, or our families, or our field of research, then we should be happy with our accomplishment.

ps get off ma lawn you goddang kids

pps i don't think this is relevant to the OP

It doesn't read like a drunk post to me. I can relate to it aside from the "being happy" part.

    sounds pretty normal

sounds like you need to have a think about what it is you would like that you don't have, and then work toward that

it could be that you are not completely happy with yourself as a person in which case figure out what displeases you about you and then work toward bettering it

You spend all of your time counting what you have. Start worrying about what you can do.

Material things are nice to have around, especially when they enable you to do the things that make you happy, but if you're not doing anything, then you're going to sit around feeling sorry for yourself and making posts like this.
