If you know your family will freak out then she should also know that your family will freak out. Just say you don't want to because you don't want to tear your family apart. Play the "I want to be with you, but my family means to much to me" card. Maybe you'll get some 'aw, that's sweet' sex.

This is exactly what you should do if you want to turn your cousin into a dangerous stalker who'll stop at nothing, including murder, to be with the one she loves (you).

Which is what you should want because it would make your fictional story all the more exciting.
