I really hate the current iteration of Christmas. It's all about stupid gifts, and corporate agendas man.
Ok, that sounded more "hyde" than I'd intended, but I seriously do hate christmas these days.

okay really i like buying things for the people i care about since i'm not bad at choosing gifts and i can't make gifts.
but no, i don't hate christmas because for me it's more about food, people i can sort of tolerate, and symbols reminding us of the true meaning of the season: our Lord and Savior, Freya the goddess of fertility and wife of Odin.
but no, no i like the cold weather while enjoying the company of family in a warm home. and it's going to snow like hell on christmas too, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ^_^
i love gifts
i think christmas is a pretty pathetic iteration
yeah, I dislike Christmas but only because it's too much about Baby Jesus and not enough about giving gifts to me.
Since 2nd grade all Christmas was for me was a 30 minute sit down with the fam, unwrapping presents, and then hiding our disappointment.
So yeah. I don't hate Christmas but it's not magical.
Nope.
I love Christmas because it lets me know when the year is almost over.
I don't hate christmas, but I'll probably hate it this year. I have to work christmas eve and day. except i get overtime pay. kaching.
i can't lie, i hate the rampant consumerism, and the concept that you're a terrible person unless you buy presents for everyone
but i do love the family get-togethers and also winter parties are pretty awesome
I love to celebrate the birth of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
woll smoth
wool smooth
I usually receive enough presents to offset how much I spent on them. So I dont mind it.
I find the season generally stressful, unnecessarily busy, and often overwhelming.
But it's all worth it when you get to enjoy time with friends and family.
(Also it's fun to pile up all of your loot)
Good God do I hate Christmas songs though. Contrary to popular belief, the same song performed by a different pop diva is still the same song.
I prefer the Christmas songs that choirs can sing... It reminds me of Home Alone (1 and 2, fuck the third).
What is Christmas?
November and December are months wherein I buy 99% of my books.
In this case:
So yeah, inasmuch as I buy books, woohoo the month of December. Otherwise, I don't care for Christmas and attach nothing significant to the days.Quote:

Christmas is a time to see family you haven't seen since last Christmas, who only ask you 2 questions.
How is school/work going?
Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife/dildo/fleshlight?
And then everyone pretends to give two shits about each other's lives, you eat some kind of beef or ham or lasagna, open up retarded gifts from people who don't know you well enough to get you a gift, you sneak out to have a cigarette or two, and then everyone goes home and forgets that this horrible night ever happened.

volkov you have a miserable family
on the other hand, i like visiting with family i haven't seen in a while and learning what they're doing with their lives, and going on long stories about the things i've done in the time we hadn't seen each other.
good usage of "on the other hand" there friend
i hate christmas, because australia -- stuck in the dark ages as it is -- completely shuts down on christmas day.
and it's such a boring fucking festival
push 0 if you think xmas is gay

guys it's possible to hate consumerism and still enjoy christmas
you're letting consumerism win if you let it ruin one month out of every year (at a minimum)
i'm fine with the consumerism i just hate christmas
I suppose I can understand where you're coming from with that feeling. But it's less boring for me since my family has traditions associated with it that I've participated in my whole life.
That's just to say that any occasion like Christmas is only what's made of it rather than anything intrinsic to the holiday. It's an obvious point, I guess.
well it's more boring here than it would be in, say, new york. i don't know how america is on christmas day, but here, EVERYTHING closes. literally everything. which makes for a truly terrible 24 hours.
this sounds like canada
but i mean it's not like i can't live without going out to buy things in a 24 hour period and there's always parties so what's the deal?
the deal is most of my friends are attached to families, and my family certainly doesn't celebrate this day, so i'm stuck at home with nothing to do and nowhere interesting to go. it'd be fine if i CELEBRATED christmas.
Oh by the way, Merry Christmas! :sycld:
lol gwahir is just a jew, a lonely jew, on chriiiiiiiiiistmas
Also I like Christmas but not nearly as much as consumerism
Here's something for the lonely heb to brighten his Christmas:
