The govt is trying to destroy about 300,000 M-14s and not get a thing for them when they could take out the full auto parts, and sell them, through the CMP and get $300-600 million for them. So sign the damn petition.

They could easily be made semi auto. If you read the page it pretty much tells you what they have to do. They wouldnt be easily converted back to full auto either. Like I said, to the ATF, once a MG, always an MG.Quote:

We used them daily for ceremonies and such. When I first got there some were missing the firing pin and extractor as Secret Service doesn't even trust those of us in uniform. By the time I left all but a handful were fully functional and they were gauged annually just like our tactical weapons.
i bet there's also a great private market for fissionable material. i wonder why the government isn't exploiting that either.
