[Mafia 5] Werewolves of Casualton --- Day 1
The mist slowly departs as the sun peeks over the mountains to the east of the sleepy town of Casualton. The barkeep, opening the doors of the towns finest, and in fact only drinking establishment, is shocked to discover that overnight, a mysterious and bold message written in ornate cursive letters has been pinned to the front door. Stunned at its contents, the other citizens of the town are quickly gathered before Barkeep, the only citizen in town actually capable of reading, narrates the message out aloud:

Attention: Citizens, Denizens and other assorted Riff-Raff of the town of CASUALTON.
You all know me, Abraham van Helsing, by my deeds and by my reputation; as the slayer of the Arch-Vampire Dracula and a fierce warrior against vicious beasts and supernatural monsters since 1887.
Although you have all been unaware that I was among you till now, I had chosen to go into retirement, living anonymously here in this hovel we call Casualton. However my keen eye has not abandoned me and I have discerned disturbing signs of late, that something terrible is afoot! That some rough beast has crept in among us and begun spreading its wicked seed through this slouching bedlam.
That beast, if I am not mistaken, and I never am, is undoubtedly a Werewolf. A cunning and deadly creature, red in tooth and claw. Unlike the werewolves of legend, this creature may take its canine form each night and is capable of both killing OR turning others into more of its own kind is its attempt to take over this town. It may have already begun converting our other innocent fellow townies to its bloodythirsty ranks. Do not try to save these unfortunate souls, for they are already lost forever! Together, they will attempt to sneak around at night, cunningly building their hideous strength and depleting our town 1 by 1, until they outnumber us, at which point they will massacre the survivors in an orgy of blood and vicera.
Against this dire threat, we are fortunate to have the services of our trusty Barkeep, who you will all know and trust. As there are only 2 ways in or out of the bar, with the help of 1 or more other townies, the Barkeep will be able to hold out in the local bar, protecting all within against attack. But beware, for should the Barkeep unwisely allow a werewolves in at night, all may be lost in the slaughter than inevitably ensues unless I am on hand to defend you.
During the day times, while they are vulnerable and attempting to hide amongst us, we must all gather together to examine the evidence and lynch the beasts, in order to calm this carnivorous canine threat.
Finally, I offer my expert services to the town and each night will attempt to identify OR slay a werewolf until all the beasts are gone. Undoubtedly they will attempt to destroy me so I will remain anonymous for the time being, unless I choose to reveal my true identity. Fortunately, with my experience fighting foul creatures of the night, any attempt by a gang of werewolves to turn me to their wicked ways will backfire, fatally I might add.

ROLES:
Barkeep - A Town-allied player with a special ability. This player is identified at the beginning of the game.
Night actions:
Invite - At the beginning of night, can send a PM to Game Moderator (me, obviously) to invite 1 or 2 other players to hold up in the local bar at night for protection from attack.
Van Helsing - Town-Allied Werewolf Hunter
Night actions:
Detect - Van Helsing can choose 1 player to visit and discern if they are a werewolf.
OR
Kill - Van Helsing can choose a target to attempt to kill that night.
OR
Enter the Bar - if invited by the Barkeep, Van Helsing can choose to accept the invitation.
Townies - Quivering Mess
Night actions:
Enter the Bar - Townies must PM me before the end of each day if they wish to accept an invitation sent by the Barkeep to Enter the Bar that night.
Werewolves - Enemy of the Town
Night actions:
Kill - Werewolves can choose a target each night to attempt to kill.
OR
Convert - Werewolves can choose a target each night to attempt to bite, which will convert that player into another werewolf.
OR
Enter the Bar - if invited by the Barkeep, a Werewolf can choose to accept the invitation. Other Werewolves that are outside the Bar that night can also choose to take a Kill or Convert action.
THE BAR:
When the Barkeep and 1 or 2 town-allied player enters the Bar at night, all players in the Bar are immune from werewolf night actions Kill or Convert and are notified who else is in the Bar that night.
If 1 or more Werewolves Enter the Bar and Van Helsing is not also in the Bar, ALL Town-allied players in the Bar DIE.
If 1 or more Werewolves Enter the Bar and Van Helsing is also in the Bar, 1 randomly selected Town Allied player DIES
If there is a Werewolf in the Bar and also 1 or more Werewolf not in the Bar, the Werewolves can also perform a Kill or Conversion action that night.
Invitations and Entry is done blind, not negotiated. Werewolves and Van Helsing should advise if they wish to Enter the Bar and what they want to do if they are not invited. The Barkeep will not know who will accept invitations before issuing them.
*You will note that the Bar rule about werewolves dying if Van Helsing is present has been changed. This removes a potential exploit.*
CONVERSION
The Werewolf Conversion power takes 1 full day to take effect. The player-convert appears to be town until the following night begins, but knows they have been bitten. A new conversion cannot be attempted until the night after a conversion is finalised (either successfully or unsucessfully). Attempting to convert Van Helsing will result in the death of a randomly selected Werewolf.
DAWN/DUSK
Day and Night will begin and end as close as practical to 9pm Sydney time. Which means 11am GMT in the UK, or 5am CST in the USA. Nights are fixed at a maximum of 24 real hours, but even if they start late or early they will still end as close to 9pm Sydney time as possible. Actions will be randomised if you don't PM me your night actions in time. You have been warned.
OTHER RULES:
Days will be whatever length seems appropriate, but tending towards shorter rather than longer. All players are required to post at least once per 24 real hours. You will be prodded gently but you will be removed from your role and replaced if necessary.
LYNCHING REQUIRES A MAJORITY. Private PMs are permitted, except at night
