Screen Size? Preference in brand? Whats it going to be used for?
Care which OS? XP or Vista? 32 bit or 64?

This is probably what i would go with for something in your price range.
The ASUS Harner posted looks killer. I've had my ASUS F3JP for about 1.5 years and no problems so far, they make a damn good laptop. Only problem is that the battery life is really weak (maybe 2 hours tops), but most laptops with dedicated graphics cards will have this issue.
Yeah that one Harner posted is probably the best you'll get with that money. Asus is a solid brand.
Thanks guys. I ended up going with the hp hdx 16 inch superwidescreen. 250 gb, built-in subwoofer, 12 cell batter, 2 year accidental damage, core duo, 512 graphics card, (nvidia) 4 gigs of ram, 64 bit vista. It ended up being 1500 after tax 200 rebate, and my school discount. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/sh...reg_R1002_USEN
