If the title of this thread was "best" superhero movie everyone would either say Iron Man or Batman, so I decided to make it more interesting. What is your favorite superhero movie?
I have my money on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Unbreakable.
Period.
Can't disagree with that.
Unbreakable just had that something that most other super hero movies lack.
Batman. [The 60's one]
dark knight, iron man and superman returns.
superman is highly underrated.
honourable mentions:
x men
x2
blade 2
oh and mystery men (thread over)
I liked the new Incredible Hulk(with Norton), also Dark Knight.
Spider man was gay as was Xmen. Other than that I don't watch that shit.
only stupid people don't like the first xmen
and x2 was good but some people who aren't stupid don't like it which is okay
spiderman on the other hand was pretty gay all along and died a horrible horrible death with 2 and 3
Judge Dredd
Spiderman 1 and 2
X-men 1
The Dark Knight
Blankman!!!
The Phantom. Nuff said.
The Dark Knight
Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
The Shadow
I have to mention that Daredevil was a humongous pile of dog shit with skunk spray all over it.
The Shadow is awesome. At least, I saw it years ago and have fond memories of it.
My favorite would have to be The Dark Knight because it keeps the new Batman saga going perfectly and because of Heath Ledger's last performance as the Joker. It makes me sad that he will never play the Joker again...but Batman has an extensive rogues gallery so I'm sure there will be many fantastic Batman movies to come.
umm... gonna go with batman feat. adam west and burt ward
i have such a soft spot for it, probably because i watched it so much as a kid
Judge Dredd isn't really a superhero movie in my opinion.
Also, I just watched the Dark Knight for the first time last night, so it's currently my favorite.
I mean, I realize Judge Dredd was a comic character...but so was Jughead. He wasn't a superhero either.
The film was an action movie centered around a cop in a dystopian world. I don't think that it was a superhero movie.
But hey, that's just my opinion. You have yours, I have mine.
You're a fucking retard
Judge Dredd IS Batman, just one is on the side of the law, and doesn't really mind killing, and one works outside the law. They both pursue justice using their own unique brand of effectiveness, and they both are mostly human (Batman is borderline mutant, and Dredd is a clone IIRC).
Now, if you wanna argue Judge Dredd is less of a comic movie, You're an idiot. He's just as much of a super hero as Batman. Don't let the cinematic tone of the film disqualify a film BASED ON A COMIC BOOK from being a COMIC BOOK movie.
Fucking moron
judge dredd was pretty good
but not good enough to quote myself three times saying the same thing
Unbreakable
The Dark Knight
Spider-Man 2
Superman 2
X-Men
X2
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man
Thank you.
I never said that it wasn't a Comic Book movie. I just don't see him as a superhero.Quote:

Thank you again. I try just for you.Quote:

Judge Dredd isn't a superhero. If you can't accept that then you shouldn't be allowed out of the house because you're probably a danger to yourself and those around you.
Hancock
j/k
Iron Man for sure. I cannot wait until the second film comes out in 2010.
I enjoyed the Spider-man movies, not for the writing, but for the excellent casting. (Well besides Peter Parker in the 3rd movie. Tobey Maguire was way too fat.)
okay i'm not going to call anyone a fucking retard because i tend to avoid overreacting that way but let me just make it clear:
castle's point is (rightly) that judge dredd is as much of a superhero as batman. this is nothing about comic book movies. pepsi said that his favourite was dark knight, which is only a superhero movie if judge dredd is.
personally, i'd disqualify batman and judge dredd and all similar characters from the title of "superhero", if we're going to be technical and pedantic, but in a list like this (especially since such characters are often found alongside superheroes; such as the many stories that have batman and superman side-by-side) i would say that both of them are acceptable
bottom line: judge dredd's describability as a superhero is the same as batman's; hence, either they both qualify or both do not.
I was mostly doing it because (no offense to SCB) but this is a dumb thread because everyone is gonna say the same thing.
Yet again you top yourself for silliness
lawl
I don't call it overreacting, I call it misanthropy
Why is it that when a jew says something people listen? They crucified christ for god's sake
Um excuse me Judge Dredd is cool.
Also, when did you get back?
i think we need a new term: superhero movies is inaccurate if you want to include batman, and comic book movies is inaccurate if you want to include characters that don't come from comics (the few that there are) and exclude comic book movies that aren't superheroey.
either that or we can accept that batman, judge dredd, iron man etc are superheroes, even without being superpowered
i favour the last option
Batman was always a superhero, I think. He doesn't have powers, but he can be the shit out of many who do.
Are you kidding me? The cast is horrible aside from Ben Parker and Norman Osborn.
Mary Jane is supposed to be hot, like incredibly sexy, and Pete is supposed to be lanky, good looking and not not sarcastic (nothing to do with Toby, but he's too much of a pussy to be anything but).
Again kt, you prove to be a fucking moron.
I thought J Jonah and Aunt May were cast pretty perfectly. MJ was fine -- Kirsten Dunst is pretty hot and you buy that she's a friendly hot person -- and Tobey Maguire was a sympathetic dork and a believable wiseass in the first movie.
The casting was pretty good the whole way through. The writing is where the second two movies failed and the first movie wasn't all that impressive.
Agreed with Jonah and Aunt May, but no MJ needs to be model hot (she's a model in the comics) and Kirsten Dunst doesn't have an upper lip and isn't even a natural redhead; that was the whole deal with Peter and MJ, she's just wayyyy out of his league.
Doc Oc was great, Venom and Sandman sucked horribly, as did the new Green Goblin (everyone can agree that S3 sucked); and the wisecracking jokes were never there.
Seeing those billboard posters of MJ/Dunst all done up like a model is perfectly convincing "model hot".
And yes, pretty much everything about number 3 sucked. I'm going to ignore it entirely. And yes, the wisecracking jokes weren't really there, but that's a writing quibble, not a casting one. In any case you should probably retract your brash comment that the casting was "horrible" and that bit where you call someone a "fucking moron" for thinking that the casting was good.
The Dark Knight. I believe it is hands down the best superhero film ever made and it is also my favourite. However I want to give a nod to others which I really like. I loved X-Men 2, as did I love Superman 2. The Spiderman movies were a dissapointment. For me the third didn't get good till the last half hour or so and by then I was almost asleep. They hyped Spiderman 2 I remember as being the greateat superhero flick ever. Bullshit. For me the 1989 Batman film was the best (at that point) and X-Men 2 was a close second.
I loved Blade too, I remember the first time I saw it. I was in awe of it.
Willow
may not be super, but he's a hero in my eyes and in my heart
I guess Ironman. I loved the cast, paced well, and enjoyed every part. The Dark Knight comes second because I felt it was a little long and there is so much to be missed you have to keep watching it over and over to get everything. Would rather do that reading a book. Constantine and Hellboy are also favorites of mine.
Comedy Option: The Toxic Avenger
@Absolution: Kirsten Dunst was a model as a child before she pursued acting.
Kristen Dunst WAS attractive enough to play MJ back in the day. Not so much anymore.
the phantom
gotta love billy zane's ass in them tight tights.. mmmm sexy.
The Dark Knight. I'm not a big fan of superhero movies and I don't think I have ever read a comic book in my life so this was one of the only ones I could even think of. Excellent movie though.
Damn this is a hard call. I gotta go with the Double Dragons Movie. I mean, I had to have watched that at least two hundred times when I was little.
Blade actually was a fantastic comic book movie
GI Joe: The Movie
the 1986 version not this bullshit they are making today.
Fine then, I'll wait for an unbiased view.
300 wasn't faithful, and in all fairness, the 300 comic is only about as long as ONE of the Sin City ministories.
Also, the 300 comic wasn't that fantastic. I mean, you immaculately render a shitty comic to a movie, it's gonna be shitty. You do the same with an amazing comic (Sin City, Ideally Watchmen) and I jerk off
No no, i agree, I just prefer the comics tone to the comedic tone of the movies.
Batman begins and Spiderman were good. I watched fantastic four last night and found it amusing, if a little weak.
Also i think The Incredibles deserves a mention. I usually hate that incessant stream of feel good pixar animations that we are subjected to every year, but this one did make me laugh.
Dude I freaking loved Incredibles
I think I might have wet myself today http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808665084/video/11128168
I am pretty excited about Xmen Origins as well. Gambit looks spot on, as does pretty much everyone else, but especially Gambit and Deadpool (I reckon this is when he first enters the weapon X program which is why he isn't all scarred and disfigured yet).
that looks hot
since it seems that combic movies = superhero movies (judging from the way this thread has turned), I thought 300 was brilliant.
Well christ, didn't Loki put a curse on him at one point so that he wouldn't die? I once had an argument with Coldreaper where she implied that Deadpool was the strongest character in the marvel universe
It was the stupidest argument I've ever heard in my entire life.
I'm not too sure about that. Deadpool's regen is even better than current Wolverine, and Wolverine can be just a pile of bones and regen now. I think he would outstamina most of the class 100 heroes, except maybe Juggernaut because I think technically he can't be exhausted by someone who isn't ridiculously stronger than him.
Sentry is the most powerful I hear nermy and mp bitching about it all the time.
Sentry is a bitch. There was a comic a while back where it said something about "stronger than a million exploding suns" but whenever it gets down to a real fight nothing exciting happens. Hulk took him out and was able to keep going during WWH.
@Mr E: His regen is about on Par with Hulks. Hulk can take a fall from space (through atmo) and be just fine. Hulk would take him out.
Hey captain castle did you know they made Spider-man do a deal with the devil so that he could go back in time and re-live is cliched and boring past instead of having him divorce the cunt or let Aunt May die? And now they are making comics with Spider-man Barack Obama. I bet you had no idea.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Spiderman made a deal with the devil? That is pretty intense for Spiderman.
Not if it's this faggot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mephisto_(comics)
mephisto is a pussy
galacticus is where its at
Mephistopheles.
I solved it.
