Private torrent site (up to 3.5 mbps)

I have 2 invites to pretome.net, for those of you that don't know it, it is a private torrent website. I have gotten up to 3.5 MBps downloads from their torrents. Only thing is...you HAVE to upload as much as you download(I have downloaded 180GB and uploaded 260GB). The fact that everyone does upload as much as they download means that the download speeds are never really slow(unless they get old). If I give you a invite and you decide not to get a good ratio, I get bad rep, but if you do I get good rep. First two who PM me wanting an invite get them.:pphug:

Well they have all game rips, all DVD(and blu-ray) rips(in avi and img format), TV series in either high or standard def(I downloaded all 9 seasons of x-files in about 2 days...72GB i think). There is adult material, mostly dvd rips. Music, windows, mac and linux apps and some ebooks. The forum isn't used much, you get credits for uploading and being idle on the mIRC channel. There are classes based on how long you've been there and how much you've uploaded. The higher the class the higher amount of download slots you can have. If you decide to have a terrible ratio, you will get demoted to thief and will only have 1 download slot. Alot of people put their stuff on seedboxes so it's usually a constant speed.

On good sites, most people simply don't hit and run.

Wrong, truly private (ie, no invites, just a completely closed community) is how you get the best torrent speeds. None of the sites I know of like this have ever cared about ratios.

Didn't intend to turn this into a vs. debate. I just find it funny that people dealt with 1:1 ratios on ftps in the 90s, and now with exponentially faster connections people deal with it on a bandwidth aggregation protocol. It just boggles my mind.

As an aside, this just reinforces my opinion that torrents are a poor medium for the downloader (although quite awesome for the providers).

I received an invite and just downloaded 21GB in about 5 hours. I think that's a good speed.

Yea but odds are most connections wont be able to upload nearly enough to maintain a decent ratio if you download 21 gb over 5 hours. I don't know the rules about pretome but I know on supertorrents if you downloaded more than 20 gb with a ratio less than like .4 then you got banned. I'm just making sure people know that they can't just sign up and download a shitload without uploading.

There is no deadline on torrent ratios. You either upload 75% of the torrent(suggest 150%) or you upload for 60 hours(during that time the torrent is "dead" meaning no uploading speed). In both cases you get a "pass" on the website.

Is it a generic site?

Yes, after 60 hours of it being not downloaded, you can drop it.

Sadly I'm still downloading at the same speeds I got from TPB even though I followed the tutorial for uTorrent, but whatever, at least its private so there won't be a shitload of fakes out there.

My speeds are 250kbps download and 35kbps upload :|.

Hey Nick I got a question. There seem to be different answers allover Pretome so I'll look to you. I was downloading kinda fast but my upload for one of the torrents was .1KB. Right now these are my stats.

Total: 1.62 GB (199.27 MB up)

Yeah, pretty shitty I know, even if I seed 60 hours for all of my torrents I'm going to have a shitass ratio. Is my only solution to upgrade my upload stats using credits? If so, gay, what a waste of nice useful credits. I've already used every possible solution given from the website. I don't know exactly what to do =/, just don't want to get banned or raped with Hit n Runs.

Make sure that the torrents you're downloading don't only have a couple peers. At least make sure they have a bunch of leechers if you want to get a decent amount uploaded. the more seeders and less leechers the faster you will download but with more leechers you will upload more.

60 hours of inactivity(no upload speeds) or 75% upload is what they want.

yeah, okay then i'll just upload for 60 hours, lol who cares about my ratio, although im gonna get hit when I get demoted to theif :(.

Music isn't a very big part of it, but you can put in requests for certain things. They may not get fulfilled though.

Ok, how the hell do I log in? Im pretty sure I actually used to be on this site. But the invite tells me you have to click the invite link, then sign up, and put the pin number in the search box. All that does is tell me that it cant find anything for the PIN.

Don't click search, just click outside of the search box and the login box should appear under the search box.

Don't copy and paste the pin number into the box. If you manually type it in, a field for your user name and password will automatically appear.

Ok, I got it. You cant paste it.

Also they are now saying my PW is incorrect. So I went to the forgot password link, and they sent me a new username and password (which I hope I can change, cause Ill never be able to remember them) and when I try to log in with that it says it hasnt been confirmed.

Looks like its a good site, but I'm looking for a private tracker to cover my ass a little bit. Kat looks to have the same torrent files as tpb and the rest of them, and I'm trying to move outside of that if possible. But pt's are hard to come by. Which is why I ask.

I also added the sports thing because I can spend 90% of my seed bonus on an invite, making it a pretty fair trade.

I very much do not like sports, so that wouldn't be any incentive. If I didn't need 780 credits to spend on a single torrent deficit(big file), I'd give it to you no questions asked without needed anything in return. I currently only have 480 credits now.
