There's nothing inherently more logical in being an atheist than not. More than likely you're agnostic.

She didn't mention logic, she said she doesn't believe there's a god. That's atheism. Besides, all atheists are agnostics anyway. I don't know a single atheist (and I don't know many non-atheists) who would not believe in a god if its existence were proven. The atheism/agnosticism differentiation is clumsy and unnecessary.

1. God is omniscient: it knows everything that it is logically possible to know.
2. God is omnipotent: it is able to do anything that it is logically possible to do.
3. God is omnibenevolent: it is of universal goodwill and desires to do every good thing that can possibly be done.

With particular regard to the problem of evil, the following inferences can plausibly be drawn from these three basic properties:

4. If God is omniscient, it is fully aware of all the pain and suffering that occurs.
5. If God is omnipotent, it is able to preventall pain and suffering.
6. If God is omnibenevolent, it wishes to prevent all pain and suffering.

If propositions 4 to 6 are true and if God (as defined by propositions 1 to 3) exists, it follows that there will be no pain and suffering in the world, because God will have followed its inclunations and prevented it. But there is - manifestly - pain and suffering in the world, so we must conclude either that God does not exist, or that it does not have one or more of the properties set out in propositions 1 to 3. In sum, the problem of evil appears to have the implication, extremely unpalatable for the theist, namely that God doesn't know what is going on, doesn't care, or can't do anything about it; or that it doesn't exist.

Lol I'm agnostic, so I tend to agree with you, but you being able to logically disprove god's existence with word play is like an ant trying to figure out the human genome.

Also you didn't even do a good job with your dumb wordplay because #3 is an oversimplification of just about every mainstream concept of God. I mean wtf was 200 years of fire and brimstone about?

As a theist or an atheist, you cast your ballot one way or another. As an agnostic, you abstain from voting.

My belief is that there is no one watching over us or anything like that. Humans were not intentional, we just adapted and evolved etc.

I am assuming this is country specific rather than county specific because I live in devon where the inclination to dance around poles and wear hemp and burn smelly shit and pray to statues is greater than the rest of the country

it's pathetic how religious people are here.

I know a couple of people who "vaguely believe in something" and I'm friends with a girl who is a catholic because she "was raised that way". I have only met 2 seriously religious people who around my age, one is now a gospel singer with an album released and the other is hopefully dead. Also, they were both black so that basically explains it.

I thought Canadains, being the liberal bastion that Canada is, were generally quite non-religious.

I just looked up the singer on Facebook. She seems far less Jesus-y now.

I believe in the "God as a scientist" model of theism, but it's more of a "If there is a god, then this is what I imagine it's like" than actual belief.

Ie: made life, and now he's just sitting back and beating off at the show.
