I've been waiting for some sort of really awesome sale to pick up WH40K: Space Marine. It's $16.99 until 2/6/2012 so I grabbed it.
I haven't had a chance to play it yet because I've been too busy between work and the overhaul of CD, but I expect it to be glorious. I love me some Space Marines.
all the DLC is also on sale, which makes me sad. I don't know what is worth getting, and don't have the time to play before the sale is over.

They gave me Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution for free for the weekend, which was nice.

Yeah Space Marine felt pretty great on a controller... I don't know that it would have the same authentic clunkiness with a mouse and keyboard.
I like Dawn of War a lot... my roommate and I got plenty of hours of head-to-head and human vs AI games way back in the day.
I'm sorry, they gave away DOW 2 to everyone who has space marine for free? oh for the weekend, ok.
So how is space marine? I know one guy who has it, but he's an idiot so I don't really trust his judgement on games.
If you like Gears of War and you like WH40k you will like it.
If you like Gears of War and you don't like/don't care about WH40k you will say its just Gears of War with Orks.
dc about wh40k and never played gears of war, thought it looked pretty generic so...
Yeah, I've only put an hour so far, but it was pretty fun, it basically is like Gears of War with Orcs.
