This thread is where you can give us your stories about terrible service you've received in from anyone in the restaurant business.
My story, about tonight;
I went to Cracker Barrel tonight, a friend of mine had gift cards she had gotten from work, so we went out to blow them. I like the food, hate that they don't serve alcohol. We get there, it's not busy at all(walking in I saw over half the tables empty) and had to wait 15minutes. I figured maybe they didn't have enough servers, not the problem, but whatever I got to fuck around in the store.
We sit down, look over our menu for 2 minutes and meet our server. She asks "What are you gonna have to drink?" We tell her our drinks, and she asked if we were ready to order, replied "No" and she stormed off after audibly "Harumphing". We got our drinks and then ordered after waiting ~15minutes for our drink. My friend wanted to change something that she ordered, while I listened to our waitress be a total bitch about making a minor change, we had been trying to get her attention for a while before she finally came over to help us. Then we got our food.
She did not give us our food, some other waitress did, and apparently I got the wrong order. I was high and did not notice this, nor was I told of this until a manager came up holding a plate telling me I got the wrong meal, he said "I know you've already eaten the other sandwich, but I can't do anything with this, so you and your date can split this", well that was cool as hell, I was stoned so more food is always good.
My drink was getting empty, and I still hadn't seen our waitress. I was eating a salad, and somehow I dropped my fork and knife. After I picked it up, some other server asked if I needed a new set, I said yes and got it.
I finally saw my waitress come out of the kitchen, where I guess she had been hiding the entire time I was there, and asked for a refill, I figured this would take 2 seconds, so I could get a new drink, finish my food, and then get the bill. She came back over about 10 minutes later, with drinks in hand. I then got my bill, immediately, payed and left.
This is the worst service I have ever received. Not even considering the 15 minute wait, I spent 45minutes at this place, only seeing my waitress 3 or 4 times. I hate stiffing people who work for tips, but the fact you work for tips doesn't mean I'm going to give you 15% just because you showed up. I grabbed a quarter and left her a 1%(or .1%, the bill was ~$25) tip, cause fuck that hoe. I've worked in the food service, I've been a waiter before, and it's not too hard to be ok at the job.
So, tell me about some bad service you've had from some dumb ass who should find a new job.

I can't help to think that since you were high the long wait times were probably a lot shorter than you think. You also don't know what kind of day she was having, although she isn't supposed to bring that to work with her, it doesn't mean she won't. A lot of waiters and waitresses have to serve PoS customers who think the world is owed to them because they are customers. And 15%? Really? I feel bad when I only leave 20%.

15% being customary for average service. I typically do not go out unless I have enough money to tip 25%, and If I'm drinking, 50%.
I can understand having a bad day, but I've had plenty of bad days, and have never brought it to work. After this experience, my friend(who works at a different Cracker Barrel) told me she had heard that particular location has been said to have terrible service.

I'm quite the generous tipper as well. I'll always tip at least 15%, even if they didn't do shit for me, like literally just serve my food and I never see them again. 1% eh.. did you write "Get a real job" on the receipt as well? LOL just kidding, referring to the story on Yahoo that sparked an uproar from a banker that did that with a 1% tip.
That is some pretty shitty service though, from that waitress alone, I'm glad the other people picked up for her. The manager didn't charge you for the extra food you ended up eating right? If not that's good the manager did his part. And that sucks to hear, I had a great time at Cracker Barrel in Tempe, AZ, I can't wait to go again, the food is great too :). Though I don't know about grits, that was my first time having grits....
Nothing too particular ever happens to me, but this Chinese restaurant I frequent to, they have great prices, and also serve some not so delicious milk tea with pearls, but it still hits the spot, because who doesn't love milk tea with pearls. The servers are just plain ass rude though lol, every single time. At least they make it up with $1 off for every $10 you spend for your next visit.. :D
