Today is free comic book day!
I purposely put off picking up my comics this week so I could stop in, grab what's in my box, and pick up a few freebies along with them. Last year there were some pretty good offerings, I'll post what I pick up later on!
What did you guys get? Did you forget about it? WHY ARE YOU NOT BUYING COMICS?!
I only got Image 20 and Adventure Time. Those plus the one about Elvis were the only ones left when I got there. I'm a little annoyed because I had to work today and couldn't get to the shop until 4pm.
Last year I arrived at 5pm and got every free comic I wanted, but this year my LCS was also holding a Magic Tournament today so I suspect a lot of the free comics went to those nerds. Bastards.
The only one I really wanted was the Star Wars/Serenity one. I got there about 2 hours after my comic book shop opened and they were gone. The owner said they were wiped out within the first 15 minutes. :sigh:
I wound up picking up: Peanuts, Spider Man, Graphic Elvis (It said something about Stan Lee on it so I grabbed it), Buffy, "Bongo Free-for-all" (had a simpsons cover), Mega-Man, My Favorite Martian and Adventure Time.
I could have grabbed all of them but I'm not a greedy bastard and I didn't really have an interest in any of the others.
Um fyi Peanuts and Adventure Time were the same comic.
