Zach and Miri make a Porno

Great flick.

I truly enjoy all of Kevin Smiths movies, and this ranks pretty high.

There were a couple of middle aged prudes in the audience when I went who would shush us for laughing (we especially got a few shushes during the hilarious "frosting" scene) and gasp during nude scenes. I still don't know why the fuck these people were there; if you are uptight, don't see a film with "Make a Porno" at the end.

But yeah, I loved the shit out of that movie.

I thought it was good. I don't like how:

They never really wrapped up the whole porno thing. Like it was never actually completed, at least like a snippet would have been nice or like the porno went huge It just sorta ended.

Kevin smith as a god among men in my opinion. But double damn I can stand Seth Rogan. I mean, seriously! Point to any guy on the street and he can do exactly what Rogan does!

I dunno, I think Rogen's a pretty competent comic actor. Really enjoyed his role in Superbad.

See to me, Rogen is the new Woody Allen. Woody was an amazing writer, but cast himself in all of the romantic roles and BAM! He became a sex-symbol. Rogen is a great writer (I think he wrote Superbad in high school and just now got it goin) and cast himself as a funny guy and now look at him...

Yeh, but on a scale of writing you just can't compare the two. If Rogen is the new Woody Allen then we live in very depressing times (as funny as his films are).

Kevin Smith is the writer and director for Zak And Miri Make A Porno and not Seth Rogen. Knocked Up was written and directed by Judd Apatow. You don't know what you are talking about.

I think it puts him in there with Woody.

Woody = not romantic.
Rogen = Not funny.

Now here me out. I mean, Rogen is just SO average. There is no gimmick, hook, or anything that sets him above the rest. I talked to a coworker that said that is the genius of Rogen (genius being thrown in there loosely), that he is just an average Joe that you can enjoy. Hell, I spent eight bucks on a ticket! I don't want average!

being an entertaining everyman is actually profoundly difficult.

edit: difficult is the wrong word. uncommon is more accurate. people who can do it can generally do it pretty easily, it's just that being ordinary-yet-entertaining is one of those extraordinarily rare talents in a hollywood where every actor is trying to show how far "above the rest" he or she is

This is a funny ass movie, and if you like anything Kevin Smith or anything Apatow (similar feel here) then you'll love this. Daryl steals the show (no surprise there), but it is still fan-fucking-tastic.

And stay till the end. The scene in the credits completes the movie.

Agreed. I missed it and wondered myself. That probably would have made my friend like the whole movie. Instead she just said "It was good but the ending was stupid." At which point I wanted to point out that if we had sex it would apparently blossom into a great relationship. That didn't happen either.

I just finished watching and it was hilarious. I guess my version didn't include the snippet in the credits because I just re-checked it. :(

I loved this movie. The casting was great. I loved the part after the credits, I want to find the real life version of that company and make a porno. That will be cool.
