I think if Big Willy Style plays the badass mastermind and someone else plays the main character it might be ok

But it will be horrible anyway. No way Spielberg can pull off macabre
From the 'fleshy fair' on in AI, it's pretty fucking macabre.
This is of no surprise because Will Smith plays everything summer blockbuster.
I don't know why everyone is ragging on Smith. He's a very good actor.

While I absolutely love Will Smith, I can't imagine him starring in this movie. Besides it'll suck if he's in a remake of Old Boy. Not because Will Smith is a horrible actor but he said he'll never star in a R rated movie. And I can't imagine a decent PG-13 version of Old Boy.

I'm a little bit confused. I saw Oldboy last week and was a little confused and guilty. If this is not an adaptation of the film but of the graphic novel that film was based on, than what is going to make this different?
