Chessington Zoo has issued an apology for the offensive smell emanating from the gorilla cage after a meal of sprouts triggered a particularly bad bout of flatulence in the giant primates.
"Sprouts can cause bouts of flatulence in animals and humans. But I don't think any of us were prepared for a smell that strong," said the zoo's Michael Riozzi.
