MINDEN, Nev. – A 39-year-old woman was arrested last week on suspicion of smoking marijuana with her two teenage children. Douglas County sheriff's deputies said the woman was detained after they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies said the woman told them that she was teaching her son to drive, but they smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
So? I have smoked with many of my friends parents.
After checking the article though these kids were 14 and that is too young for parents to be smoking with them. There is no way a 14 year old should be smoking and learning how to drive that's just stupid.

I think kids should remain kids until they are adults. Unfortunately that's not going to happen in this day and age. Kids long to be adults and adults long to act like kids. Doing drugs at such a young age doesn't make for a very promising future.
I don't think a child should be introduced to pot by their parents at all. I think the parents should be really strict about it so the kids will want to be secretive about it. I didn't start smoking until I had already gotten a good job at 16 and had it for a year. And even then it was something that I slowly became more comfortable doing. Now I smoke in my room every now and then, but my parents don't (openly) know about it. They might know, but it's not something we talk about, and I think that's the way it should be.
Agreed to some extent. I believe parent's and there children should have an open relationship where they can both put there views out on the table (note that I'm talking about being 16 and maturing at this point). If the parent's disapprove then thats their view and the kid and the parent's should find a common ground that they can both agree on. I.E: only smoke weed when your at someones house, don't come home high, don't get stoned here etc etc.Quote:

in many ways kids are more grown up and "adult", and in other ways kids are way behind. like the word "mature", "grown up" means almost nothing when actually given thought
At the age of 14 your brain isn't fully formed so it would not be a good idea to start doing drugs before you're brain/body is fully formed.
Also, socially you wouldn't be fully formed either. But this is just being general, some people would be socially formed.

I smoked weed when I was 14, and as an adult now, I'd rather kids smoke weed than drink alcohol at 14. or any age for that matter. weed is safer than fucking ibuprofen.
