Ive already seen 28Days/Weeks Later, Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead (2007), downloading the older one, and Planet Terror. Anyone else have any suggestions?
I tend to like zombie movies based in America more, because when they are based in the UK or something like that, the survivors fight them off with bats and axes. When they are in America everyone has a gun. lol
But I still like the ones based outside the US.
Army of the Dead.
I highly recommend Quarentine. It's based in Manhattan, New York. It's a remake of a Spanish Version called [Rec].
Night of the Living Dead, Diary of the Dead, I am Legend (maybe not zombies but good).
If you are looking for a laugh, Flight of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead (remake), Undead. So god awful. Don't even fit into the "so bad it's good"category.
I watched REC the other day.
Pretty interesting take on the zombie theme, which is great in a very narrow genre notorious for it's cliched repetitiveness.

It's not a bad movie but it's not great, either. And there's some debate as to whether to movie counts as zombies, because the book decidedly doesn't.

Talking about I Am Legend, the theater release of it had a horrible ending. You can easily find the real ending they included in the DVD.
I don't know. It was nice to see the main character die for once. You don't get that too often.

Depends on what you want from the movie. Resident Evil is supposed to be a franchise based on scares, not mindless action. Romero's zombie films are social commentary. Zak Snyder's DotD was an action film, as was the DayotD remake.
That's what I find odd about zombie movies. Given the right circumstances, they can literally be any genre. I mean, when I think "Zombie" I don't think "Zombie-genre", I think of the undead more as a theme than anything else.
Diary of the Dead isnt too bad, right at the start they confirm something that most "zombie movies" get wrong. Zombies are decomposing corpses, therefore they cannot run!
Not the best acting or script, but at least the zombies are half believe-able.
I am not sure how I feel about Zombie movies that try and make some vague human condition truth appear at the end. Like in Diary of the Dead, when she asks if humans deserve to survive and it shows those rednecks begin all twisted.Quote:

Made by an amateur filmmaker (anyone ever see the angry video game nerd? yeah, him). That thing still kicks some serious ass, though it's only about 17 minutes long so perhaps not considered a movie, but I definitely think you should check it out.
