Wedding syndrome, or actually something?

Ok, so I met this girl at a wedding and we totally hit it off. We spent the whole reception together, then went out afterward and stayed out quite late. She was heavy with the physical contact (not that I'm complaining), but I didn't know if it had turned into an impromptu date or if it was just wedding syndrome.

She gave me her number, so that is a good sign, but I don't know what any of that meant, if anything. I am shy and don't handle rejection well, so I don't want to stick my neck out only to have it chopped off, but at the same time I actually really like this girl. We have a hell of a lot in common and she's just freaking cool. What should I do?

Try calling her. If you two seemed to hit it off and have a lot in common, why not give it a shot?

Call her.

If she gave you her number, she probably wanted to talk to you again. Just ask her out for coffee or lunch just to get to know each other a little more.

If she hated you, she wouldn't have hung out with you or given you her number.

I would say your best bet is to call her, but pose as a friend of yours. You could also slip her a note - this is super romantic, just copy and paste it into word:

Do you like me? Check one:

[ ] Maybe

That also works for proposals and second dates.

You forgot to add "She might be good for a quick drunk lay."

No one I've ever hooked up with at a wedding has been good for anything afterwards.

Well, I didn't call her per se, but I did see her and text her, and the long and short of it is most of it was wedding syndrome, however that isn't set in stone. She is in her 'I don't want a boyfriend' phase that all 20-something girls go through, so I'm gonna hang on the outskirts until she gets over that then go for the gold and see what happens.

How many times do people have to say this: SOME girls really don't want boyfriends at a particular time. However, they are in the minority. The other ones just haven't met anyone yet that they WANT as a boyfriend. It's like when someone says "I just don't want to be in a relationship right now". Add "with you" to the end of that. Unless somebody has something hugely stressful and life changing going on, like a cross country move or a dying parent, most everybody will at least consider a relationship if they meet the right person.

If you hang on the outskirts, you're never going to give her the chance to find out if she likes you or not and vice versa. You might as well just never call her again and forget you ever met her if you're going to do that. Girls want guys who take the lead. My girlfriend straight out admitted to me that she liked me for a month or so before we started going out, but was waiting to see what *I* would do. If I'd hung on the outskirts I wouldn't be with her right now.

If there's one thing I've learned with my current GF, it's that girls have a hard time respecting people that don't respect themselves. Don't be a pansy, in other words.

I didn't get that news straight from her mouth. She would humor me at the moment were I to ask her, but she is going through a rough patch with her religion and for real is actually not looking for a relationship. I got this news from her best friend/my best friend's new wife. Trust me, it isn't from lack of quality from me.
