Congratulations. I'm not terribly familiar with weight lifting, bulking or anything like that but how long do should you expect it to take to put on that much more muscle?
I have no way to determine if it's just fat or muscle, or a combination of both, but I assume 2 months for "pure muscle"
But honestly, I'll hit 170 by the beginning of April if I work hard (and eat) enough.
Well you could always have your bodyfat measured and compare it to your bodyfat when you hit your target weight. Some gyms have a set of calipers and shouldn't charge you much, if anything to measure it.
Congrats on getting closer to your goal though sir. Here's a nice ab exercise for you to try when you get a chance. (at the end of the video)

*Disclaimer-if you hurt yourself, I'm not responsible. Also I can't do that one...
Yeah you're right I could, I guess laziness just stands in my way on that subject.
I now weigh 167 pounds. Go me.
people want to lose weight but you want to gain weight?
They want to lose fat, he wants to gain muscle.
Just like little me.
EDIT: except that I weigh approximately 40 pounds less.
Whats your caloric intake? Macro breakdown?
I was a lineman in High School football, and I was a tiny one at that(Never made it over 225lbs). For me, putting on weight via fat is about 100 times easier than putting on muscle weight, i dunno why. But hey, I weighed myself in Feb and was 210, weighed myself again a few days ago after working out/skate boarding/running etc and I'm back down to 190.
Weight is gay shit man.
I'd have to stop and think about it. I haven't been following a diet schedule for the last few weeks, my job grabbed me by the balls and wouldn't let go. That's probably where my issue is. I need to get back on a scheduled diet and not veer off of it and eat shit like I have.
I weigh 175lbs now.
And my protein and calorie intake is insane, but I think most of my body fat is melting off and muscle is replacing it. I've bulked up a tad bit in the past months.
how tall are you kally-poo?
and gwahir is only around 125 lbs?!
i'm 5'11.
and now I'm 180lbs
I'm about 125lbs I guess. 55kg.
Possibly less, actually. I've been moving so past these last few months and not eating well, or very much, at all. I also haven't picked up my weights in about two months. Awesome.
183... I'm really being careful about not over doing it now.
i weigh 215 at 6', and even tree planting didn't lower this my more than 5 pounds, but i did go down in belt size. I do a lot of labour work, so i sweat a lot and have a pretty solid muscle base for getting shit done and moving heavy stuff
i just weighed myself this morning.
i'm at 160 lbs at 5'10". this is the most i ever have weighed, and i've gained like 15-20 lbs over the last two years or so. i'm perfectly content with this, but i just hope i don't gain much more weight...
sorry, but do not want tbh
how much you weigh as a man is a pretty important statistic
i'm pretty comfortable with my weight now. I have a bit of a gut, but i'm active enough that it'll disappear in a week or so. Considering at 15 i used to be 5'9" 250~lbs and was until i was 19 or so, i'm doing all right.
don't worry sycld, i'm not looking to be picked up by you or any gay guy, just so you know
i (and guys who aren't complete social failures) could be 500lbs and still fuck more than the vast majority of dudes who worry about their weight
so i'll say it again without the sarcasm
weight is unimportant as a man unless you have a job or other function/hobby that requires you to be physically fit
sorry i should have clarified:
unless you wanna get fucked and are a homo
i mean we have to be pretty for other men and all just like girls have to be pretty for men
but in all seriousness people should be healthy physically because it makes them feel better. healthy body, healthy mind.
o ok well i cant say i know anything about the homosexual community so ill accept that as the truth
and yes i agree being healthy includes being physically fit and that being healthy is a great and underrated thing
i am pretty healthy. i watch what i eat, and i do physically stressful things for long stretches every day. I have hobbies that keep my mind occupied the rest of the time, and i socialize in my downtime from those things. As stupid as it is to say something like this on the internet, but everyone puts me at about 30 lbs lighter than I actually am. I mean, it's pretty much entirely in how you carry yourself anyways and, as faesce says, if you aren't completely inept at talking to people, it's not a problem to get laid.
hey thanks for chiming in a little after the fact buddy keep it movin
just wanted more self-aggrandization in this convo ok?
you post too much
can't argue that
i mean for somebody who claims to be "booked" 24/7 you find an awful lot of time to post
i think i log on this site entirely too frequently and yet i still have roughly 1/10000th of your post count
coq is just looking for attention.
amirite coq?
well that was one weekend
i mean throughout the workweek i spend my time forcing personal information about myself onto forum-going internetters mostly out of boredom in between work, guitar and sleeping
in simple terms, i just look skinny with really big bones.
Probably one of the most common misconceptions in muscle building. It falls into the same category as the whole idea that you can pinpoint burning fat to a certain area of the body. You can't...there is no such thing as spot reduction. You should not change your weight workouts in any way during a cutting phase. You simply need to increase your cardio and decrease your calorie intake. Changing up your weight workout to lighter weights with more reps will just cause you to burn more muscle tissue along with the fat, and that isn't what you want to burn.
god damnit ozzy how the tits did you get out of your room without me noticing again
i'm tricky
Weight isn't the only thing to be careful of. When was the last time you had blood work done? Body builder's and athletes that use supplements like whey protein can fall victim to high cholesterol due to the fact protein sups are somewhat high in cholesterol. That's why you should be careful and use it as a supp, not as a main source of protein.
As for the muscle without definition, you need to deplete yourself. Cut out carbs for a few days and do your workout with cardio and see some new veins and lines while you are depleted. Its really cool.
Potatoes are starch, largely carbohydrates. Choose a different source of protein.
The chicken and a low/no fat cottage cheese are great though. I do Tuna (white albacore in water) mixed with cottage cheese.
Kal El who ignored my post because 99% of the time I troll him, but not this time. Most people are misinformed with one area or another in regards to bodybuilding (and who can blame them because 10 people will tell you 10 different things on the same subject) and I feel compelled to correct them. Hell, even professional bodybuilders are a horrible source for information because they are genetic freaks whose bodies will respond to any stimulus.
I wasn't ignoring you, I just didn't feel obliged to respond. I don't ignore posts, I read them, but unlike some other people in this world, I've learned that not everything needs a reply from me.
And yes I've heard a million different things on the subject so I'm dropping the entire idea of toning, but instead on focusing on decreasing my body fat while pushing myself to gain more.
Hi Kal El,
You need to get more quantity of protein daily and if you want to get it naturally then egg is the pure form of protein...
should take eggs at breakfast...
