I went shooting with my new XD45 and noticed it was way off. I couldnt even hit a 5 in wide tree at 5 yards. It shoots way to the left. I was looking at the front sight, and its definitely not centered. How can I fix this?

If the front sight is driftable you can center it with a brass punch and a small hammer, do not use a steel punch. Spray the dovetail with lube. Place the punch on the base of the sight, the part that is in the dovetail and give it small sharp taps until it is centered. Once the sight is centered see how far off you are. You can make further adjustments by drifting the sight in the direction you want it to shoot. If it shoots to the right, push the sight to the right.
As for addressing overall accuracy and getting it to group, try a few different ammos and see if there is one that is better.
