is this possible with a phone?

So my ex girlfriend calls me complaining about a rude phone call that I made last night.

Thing is... I definitely didnt call her, and no one was around to use my phone. She swears that it said my number.

and

Who ever made the call said they were my new girlfriend and that she has a l**se t***.

So is it possible to disguise your phone number and make it appear as someone elses?

I knew someone that used to be able to do it, but the phone company put an end to that method.

Possible, yes.
However Occam's razor would suggest your ex is just making it up to try to call your bluff. Not many people know how to do it, and the odds of someone being immature enough to try to frame you AND know how to fake the caller ID would be like 0.001%

and 2, just check the call log in her phone. What service do you have? I am sure you can log into the website and view a call history, meaning log into your account and see if a phone call was made from your telephone to her telephone at any time during the range in question.

My roommate has some app on his iphone that spoofs another number when he calls people.

Yes, on the iPhone theres an app called spoofphone or something like that.

Lets you change your caller ID to anything you want or something to that effect.
Sounds possible.

Also, my old phone used to tell me that someone was calling, then it'd be someone else, I guess it was just an OS glitch or something.

It's completely trivial to spoof CID and clone phones (GSM is ridiculously easy).

ive had this happen to me before but it was a fluke glitch in the phone and there was no malicious intent involved. someone called me and it displayed a completely different name from my contacts.

So I checked out spoofapp.com and it looks to me like this is what happened. The girl I suspected of making the prank call is rocking an iphone too.

I used to just change peoples number in the phone book to mine and leave the name the same. Then I would fuck with people.
