Moral triumph or just inhuman?
At some point or another, we've all been dragged into a strange conversation. Thanks to the...unique people I know, I have had plenty of weird talks but this one is still making me shake my head. I was talking to a good friend of mine Nicky, who, like all stereotypical women, was planning her wedding despite the lack of a significant other, or even a boyfriend in the foreseeable future (she just broke up with her boyfriend).
Anyway, I'm not sure at which point we actually got on the topic, but I started to make wedding night jokes. Now she is very religious and very modest to the point it borders on prudish, so she began to grow uncomfortable quickly. To try and put an end to all of my crudeness, she simply stated that she was planning on the wedding night to be magical, amazing, and mind blowing...because she was saving herself for her husband.
Now I can't speak for all of you, but in my experience virgin on virgin sex is awkward to the extreme. It's not some magical romantic movie moment kinda deal where you lay in the arms of your lover until the sunrises. I decided to voice this opinion of mine and she of course got even more embarrassed but surprisingly, soldier on through it. After some more offhanded jokes, she confessed that the idea of the wedding night made her worried because there was so much pressure involved.
I laughed and told her that's why she should experiment all she could BEFORE the wedding. Of course she stuck with her "I'm saving myself" bit and that's when I commented that you could always test your limits alone. Since I had the internet as a teen, this was a cut and dry masturbation joke, but she didn't seem to get it and badgered me by what I meant by experimenting alone.
Finally I got sick of her asking me what I meant and said, "I meant tickling the man in the boat! Touching yourself! Self-gratification!"
Now as I said, she was close to being a prude. She immediately started to turn several shades darker as her face flushed. That's when she dropped the bombshell that is the point of this lame thread. She, a twenty year old woman, claims to have never masturbated before. Now I didn't think this was fucking possible and I still want to call her a liar. I asked what the hell she did with twenty years of pent up sexual energy, and she just shrugged and said, "I don't think about it."
After some thought I realized that I was morally bankrupt and that I might need to broaden my perspective and get some other opinions. What do you folks think? Can someone actually go that long in this day and age where sex is used as a marketing tool, to be so moral they ignore and forget all sexual urges? I still don't think it's possible, but then again, I'm a guy and have no idea if women are wired so differently they can ignore their baser instincts.
Summary: This chick I know is twenty years old, and has not indulged in ANY sexual activity including masturbation or so she claims. I thought this was impossible.
