[FOR SALE] XFX nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX - PCI-E x16 Video Card

Hello All,

I recently upgraded my video card, and therefore am no longer in need of this one. This is a few years old, and was top of the line then, and as such was quite expensive. Everything is in great condition as I take care of my computer systems with regular air cleanings.

This is a XFX nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB GDDR3 Card (256 Dedicated, and takes 256 from RAM), Here are the tech specs:

It is now fully supported with Vista 32 and 64bit getting the drivers via nVidia's website. Pictured below is everything you get,

This is a great video card, and will more than satisfy almost anyone's gaming needs, heck, it even runs Crysis, lol :)

Anyway, I am starting off asking $125 U.S. Dollars for it, make me an offer and I will consider it. Payment would be to my PayPal account, and I would UPS it to you ground, and yes, in an anti-static bag. Shipping included in price. No warranties, returns or guarantees, but I was using it as recently as 2 days ago just fine.

Okay, after doing a little research into the current Video Card market, I am lowering my price from $125 dollars to $100 dollars and am still open to offers!

There are several people on Ebay selling GeForce 7800's for 80-125 bucks. It's still a pretty high-end card.

In what way, shape or form is a 7800GTX a high-end card? It's 3 or 4 generations old now.

You can pick up an 8800GT or 9600GT for the same price you're asking, and that's NEW retail...or even better, a 4850 for $130 off newegg.

This was extremely top of the line when it came out, it has an insanely powerful GPU, just because it is a few years old doesn't mean it is less powerful than some of the newer cards. What's more powerful? A 1994 Ford Mustang or a 2008 Honda Civic? I know the computer industry is a tad different as advancements come faster, but you get my point.

This wasn't a 200 or 300 dollar card 3 years ago, this was a $500 to $600 dollar card MSRP 3 or 4 years ago. The GPU is STILL huge, and can run almost any of todays new games at the highest visual settings. And people don't price things low if they are willing to take offers, as the offer is always going to be lower than what you are asking for it.

This is a full in depth benchmarking review of this card. Granted, a 500 dollar card 4 years ago is equaled by a 200 dollar card today, but still, your suggestion that $20 dollars is generous is absurd.

It is probably worth about $40-$50. It is still a pretty good card, the issue is that it is only compatible with DX9 which hurts its value.

It was originally DX9, but the newer drivers from the nVidia website upgrade it's compatibility. I was using DX10 with it.

oh, in that case your price isn't soooooo bad.

$100 for that old crap? Just because it was top of the range when you bought it 4 years ago doesnt mean it can still compete with the big boys. You can get a 9800GTX+ on newegg for $30 more, which would kick the stink out of the 7800GTX.


EDIT: Ok I must have missed something, there are some going on ebay for about $50, then there are some listed at almost $200....

People on ebay are nuts.

I do say make me an offer, if you want $3000 out of a used car, you price it for $3500 to $4000, because people will try to knock it down to a better price.

Well this isn't a car, its a graphics card. And yes, just because its old now, does mean the newer cards are better.

So, a cheap-ass PCI video card that is brand new is better than my PCI-E high performance card because it is old? Sure. Sound Logic.

To put my modhat on here for a moment since this thread is just full of bickering, if the folks here don't want to pay much for it and you can get so-much-more for it on Ebay, just Ebay then. It doesn't look like the market here at CD is willing to pay what you are currently asking. You are selling a used item, and several years old at that. It has depreciated.

If it makes you feel any better my 6600GT was like $150-180 when I got it about 4 years ago and it's used value now is like $5.
