I wanted some comics to read so I need you to recommend me some. But first I have a request/question.
Which comics are the quintessential Deadpool and Lobo comics I should read to understand both characters and their powers and nuances? I guess that question is more directed towards people who actually keep up with those two.
And then recommend me some comic arcs or series or runs i should read.
As far as Deadpool goes, I recommend The Circle Chase and Sins of the Past. World War Hulk is also a really great arc to read, one of the best story arcs to come out recently with the late Civil War/Secret Invasion bullshit. If you're wanting to read some good graphic novels, go with the classic The Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween or if you've already read those Spider-Man:Reign is one of my favorites.
I like how you chose the two joke comics from both universes to read and want to look for more depth. Check out Ambush Bug and the tick too.
What are the two joke comics and why are they the two joke comics? I'm feeling negative vibes here despite being a fledging comic book newbie.
lol Deadpool used to know he was in a comic. He was 100% invented as a character that they just used for goofball comedy, and lobo was pretty much the same. I was just giving him a hard time. Lobo and Deadpool come across as extremely badass people when in reality they are really pretty dumb. Sure they can't be killed, but it's for comedy purposesQuote:

There is a movie coming out but Kickass by Mark Millar is pretty good. I don't know how the movie is going to do but I know it appeals to a certain crowd - in othe words, me. Mark Millar is writing a new self owned comic called Nemesis about the world's only supervillain going after the world's greatest detective. My friend kept dropping his name to me, and I never realized - until the last month or so - I have read a lot of his comics. It would be safe to say a lot of people know who Stan Lee does and have very good idea what he has done for the comic industry especially if you aren't a comic fan. I am riding Mark Millar's dick but I think he is on his way right up to the top with Stan Lee. He was the writer for Wanted, Kick Ass, and Nemesis. He also has done a lot for the Ultimate Marvel Universe. You can find trade paperbacks of Civi War, The Ultimates, Ultimate X-men, Ultimates Fantastic Four, and maybe some DC stuff I think Superman: Red Son. I think one of the best things he has ever done for Marvel has been Wolverine's Old Man Logan. Steve McNiven was the artist for that and some of Mark's other works, and I like his style with Millar's writing. I think they make a great duo. I don't think I've read anything that Steve McNiven did artwork for without Mark, but I'm sure he has done some great stuff. I like stuff that isn't done by either of those two, but if I saw there names together on something upcoming I would definitely put it on my upcoming list.
mark millar is quite possibly the worst comic book writer of all time.

Kick-Ass
In all fairness the only one of those I finished reading was Civil War because the rest were so terrible.

Well, theres like 30 different Deadpool titles out now. You can probably just grab one of those at random.
Actually, to be honest, Deadpool Team-Up #889 was pretty good. Deadpool teams up with Gorilla-Man. It's written by Jeff Parker, one of my new favorite authors.
Read Batman
Batman is the only one (along with the odd detective comics) that I read/collect. So this is all I can recommend.
But really, what else do you need.
Don't trust anything KT says, she doesn't think that Bendis is terrible.
