Bought another AR-15 lower...

I forgot to tell you guys. I ordered another AR-15 lower for a build I plan on doing. Im not sure what I want to do with it yet, but it will be one of two extremes. Either a registered 7.5 in SBR (Short Barreled Rifle), or a 18 or 20 in bull barrel with a big ol scope over it.

If I go with the SBR, then Ill end up going with a Diablo PWS 7in gas pistol upper. Or a 7.5 in DI gas upper. I havent decided on the optics yet, but it will be something small to keep the weight down. Probably something like an Aimpoint Micro.

If I go with the bull barrel, then I will put a Magpul PRS stock on it with some optics with a high zoom. Dont really know yet though.

Or maybe Ill just stick with a normal AR and keep it simple with just putting a red dot on it.

I like how this one has the intergrated trigger guard. Its hard to find lowers at all, much less one this nice for the price I got it for ($160)

I was also able to get a lower parts kit for it, but I had to pay more than normal for it because I was forced to get it from gun broker.

Looks pretty nice. I think I might buy a lower and start a build. I've still got my stripped upper sitting around, haven't bothered to actually put it on my current AR. I'd like to build something from scratch that I can call my own, and actually do it right. Put quality parts into it and just take my time.

They are easy to build. Ive never done a lower, but Ive done everyhting except taking the barrel off the upper.

I got my lower parts kit in today. Its a DPMS so its pretty good. Hopefully I get my lower soon.

I'd love to dump some serious time and money into a sweet SHTF special purpose rifle. A nice bipod, freefloat, stock, high zoom optics and an angled red dot, and a high quality BCG.

Seems like an SPR-type setup is not really what you'd want for a SHTF rifle. It'd be a fun toy but not ideal for survival or self-defense.

Okay, well maybe not quite an SHTF, but more a "They're coming to take me away, heehee!" paranoid grassy-knoll rifle.

My ideal SHTF rifle is a 10.5 in Addax gas piston upper with something like an Aimpoint micro on it. Or one of the small EOTechs. Aimpoints have EOTech beat on battery life. But both use AA batteries, which would not be hard at all to find in a SHTF situation.
