learn c#
learn matlab
If you are familiar with C/C++ Matlab won't be that awful. I took a course on it this past semester and it's based off C++. Unfortunately I have no idea how to use it outside the scope of doing mathematical purposes.
Mathematica and Matlab both have very quirky syntax in some cases, but with some practice you'll get it. I don't know what else to tell you.
Have you at least used Matlab in any engineering, science, or math courses?
No, don't have experience with either one....the director expected me to learn on my own when I have no access to a Wiimote, the programs, and a bluetooth connector, lol.
Wait... you have no access to Matlab?!
Hmm... I bet you can get it through your university, and I wouldn't be surprised if the director of your internship tacitly assumed this as well. You do at least have programming experience I assume? :p
As others have said, Matlab programming is rather similar to C++. There are some quirks in its syntax since it is oriented towards math, so I would recommend just Googling a tutorial that'll guide you through a simple excerise using its prompt to do some sort of example math application. That'll help you understand its quirks.
Actually, since I had no access to Matlab, he made me use a clone, known as Octave (http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/)...I'm pretty much fucked, I start Monday with no fucking idea on what I'm doing. Shit.
