Bubblegum
Somebody in my house left a pack of gum on the floor. My puppy got into it and chewed up the whole pack. He now has gum stuck in his fur.
I called the vet to see what I could do, and the girl who answered the phone said, "Ummmm. I don't know. Why does your dog CHEW GUM?"
Does anybody know of a home remedy I could use to get gum out? Possibly one that doesn't involve shaving, because the gum covers a good part of his fur. I also can't cut it out with scissors because he has short hair.

Some of those look quite promising. I can't see why they wouldn't work on dogs.

Yeah I tried the peanut butter and ice already neither worked.
I'm going to try rubbing alcohol next.

This reminds me of that simpsons episode where lisa gets gum into her hair and everyone comes with their tips of getting it out.

I'd call a groomer and see if they can help you out. I'm sure they see plenty of crap in animals hair, and probably have tons of animal-friendly tips for removing it.

Anything oil based should get the gum out.

Rubbing Alcohol got most of it out. There is only small bit left that will NOT come out. My dog wont even allow me to come near him to get it out. I plan to use oil, or my puppy can tough it out until it all wears away.

I actually had gum in my hair the other night, long story. Anyway, I put some olive oil in my hair and it came right out. As for the annoying little pieces I just combed it out.
