Got it to work. Some setting that I had previously unchecked because it didn't work now made it work. Go figure...
Dead thread aside... out of curiousity, what OS and Bluetooth stack are you using? I've never had much luck with the default Vista stack until replacing it with a third-party one for a USB adapter I found through Google.
