What should I get for my reward to myself?

So I'm stuck for three and a half months in a shithole part of the country for some training for a new job. I have concluded that, once I graduate, I shall reward myself (after paying off my Glock 27) with a new firearm. I am in a dilemma, though, in that I can't really decide what I should get. I have narrowed it down to a brand new Beretta CX4 Storm (roughly $750) or a Garand (wildly varying prices depending on condition, but I could get a very nice one for the same price as the CX4).

Help me decide. I threw up two other options, one for people who have constructive suggestions, and one for the inevitable "you already have four guns and that's too many so you don't need a fifth" anti-gun pansy response.

M1 Garand. I was going to get one, but built another AR instead. But I will get one. They are great rifles with alot of history.

You can get one for $600-650 IIRC from the CMP. All you need to do it get signed up with a shooting organization in your area, and take a live fire training exercise (CCW permit is acceptable, and if you dont have that, you can just go shoot at a police range, and get an officer to sign off for you). They will ship it right to your door too. No FFL needed.

They have the SA Service grand Garand for under $600.

Yah, I figured if I went with the M1 I'd go through CMP. But I'd probably wait until they got some more correct grade rifles in stock. They probably go for around $750 and if I"m willing to drop that on the Beretta, I might as well put it down for the Garand and get a rifle that's in the best condition I can get.

I've seen some of the service grades. I would say they are in excellent shape. When I get one, I'm going service grade.

M1. They're fun as hell to fire. Plus, it's a piece of American history.

Voted the M1, the "Greatest battle implemented ever devised." I have yet to own one but used to maintain some of the last few fully functional Garands on the US Army's books.
