Can't get a program to connect to internet....

So the program is an online poker program. It has been working great until today, it just stopped. So I'm wondering if the school network is blocking the program? I'm at a college.

Anyone know of how to push the connection through whatever firewall type thing the network might have?

Info that might be relevant...
Other poker programs haven't worked..they've done the same thing as this one is doing now.
The program seemed to stop working when my friend was trying to log on to the program for the first time. Same issue on his computer.
I'm on a mac.
My friend was on a PC.
