Well yes you see Pakistan kinda enjoyed a separate existence from India in 1947 because Hindus and Muslims don't mix very well. Hinduism is a reactionary isolationist religion whereas Islam (particularly Ahmadiyya Islam in Lahore) is progressive. Also Hindus treated Muslims like ass.

So the prospect of an Indian celebrity marrying a Pakistani counterpart is of course going to be downplayed.
