Ok my laptop is 64bit. Say I want to install a 32bit game on here. Is there any way to do that at all? It's a fairly old game and when I try to install it I get a message about incompatability.
So is there a way to get around it? I'd really like to play this game for nostalgia's sake and I really don't feel like sourcing an older pc just for that purpose.
If you have Windows 7 you can just run it in Compatibility Mode. Right-click the shortcut/exe and under Compatibility choose Windows XP SP3.
Most 32 bit games work just fine without even running them in compatibility mode. Some do require compatibility mode, and some just won't work period.
If it is old enough to contain 16-bit code you are screwed all-over.
I agree with this. I never had issues with 32 bit apps and games working on a 64 bit system at home. Enterprise support is a bit different at work. You should be fine. If you run into issues - run it in compatibility mode. If it's too old, find an emulator or run a VM.Quote:

Yeah. In the 90s. It was a point & click thing but it was awesome.
