i played it for half an hour yesterday. i didn't do anything storyish, just wondered around stealing things and wiping out townsfolk. from what i saw, the gameplay is unimpeachable.

You shoot the cougar once to damage the health and then hit it once with the knife and it's dead ;)
Love this game.
I have been playing this the past two days, and I'm hooked. Amazing game.
Im getting it wednesday. Should have got it last week but stupidly bought ufc 2010

How much are the boars worth in Mexico? I found a spot I can usually kill 3 boars and two cougars if I plant some bait.
I honestly don't remember too much. Boars have about a medium value. Deer aren't bad to hunt either, especially bucks. I never used bait and just drove around till I found a bunch of animals. I'll get back to you on the location but I found a spot where I killed probably 3 or 4 cougars. They just kept coming. Same with wolves. I think there's a bug or something where animals just keep spawning cause it seems like if you stay in a spot long enough they'll keep coming.Quote:

Grizzly stuff is worth alot of money in Mexico. The fur is like almost $40. And its really easy ti kill them with the semi auto shotgun.
I beat it today. The ending was disappointing in a sad kinda way, but there is a stranger mission you do to get the credits rolling.

Never played Gun. So I cant really comment.
Gun sucked. I didn't play it all but I played for 45 minutes at a friends and beat the last 2 quests and the final boss.
But RDR is a really good western game, I like it's roaming better than Gun
Loudmouth, the first page generally isn't too old to bump.

Well this is kind of an old thread but only a dozen down on the first page (slow subforum I guess).
I got this game for Christmas, got about 6 hours into it so far [note to self: don't get an tough-to-tear-away-from game when you're expecting the in-laws for the holidays because it is just girls going blah blah blah and really tough to pay attention to the dialogue and even worse to try to explain to your mother-in-law why you're tying a hooker to the railroad tracks] and really am enjoying it. Fast travel is for fools, almost every trip I've taken "manually" as resulted in something interesting happening.
You will use the fast travel a good bit later. I used to just ride from A to B and kill animals along the way for money, but it gets kinda old.
So far I've learned from this game (by falling for it like 4 times in a row) not to pick up hitchhikers - "Hey there stranger, I'm lost and can't find my way into town, can you give me a lift?", "Hey baby I am about to die of the heat I need to get to town soon" = HORSEJACKED
I tried the very first time to whistle again for my horse like I read I online but that didn't work. My most recent experience though was with a young whore that got bucked the fuck off my horse, I took it back and shot her in the back of the head. I lost honor for that, what the hell, bitch stole my horse.
I always pull my gun on them if Im stopping for them. Dont put it DIRECTLY on then, cause they will freak, just put it to their side. And kinda move away a bit once you trigger them to start talking. That way you make some distance.
Honestly, when I played through it, the vast majority were just people needing help. I had maybe 3 people try something the whole game, and one guy actually took my horse. I was in the mountains and he jumped on it, and ran right off a cliff. :(

I fell for this once, I was just riding along and some bitch was like "could you help a lady out?". She was dressed like a hooker. I get off my horse to walk to her and she runs past me and jumps on my horse and says something about me being green. I immediately jump into deadeye mode and pump like 5 bullets into her with my Winchester Repeater. Didn't loose any honor or anything. I looted her body for 7 hooker dollars. Bitch ain't taken my horse. I just got the game for Christmas and love the fuck out of it. I am looking forward to the Zombie DLC.Quote:
