[mess hall] Onii shiro hajime suuUUUUSHi kawaii HAI *^_^*

I made sushi yesterday. As it was with my parents, it was vegetarian-u.

It's not very difficult, actually. The rice's consistency was perfect, and that's probably the most difficult thing to achieve: it was stiff enough to hold the sushi's shape but not dry. However, I added way too much rice vinegar, a mistake I won't repeat.

We had asparagus, avocado, and egg+swiss chard sushi. All were quite good, though some were more neatly rolled than others. And next time I make egg sushi, I'll be sure to cook it up into a taller omelet.

Now to find sushi-quality fish-u for real onii shiro sushi happy fun time *^_^*

i won a sushi set and i'm gonna make sushi soon i was thinking of going veg mostly but also maybe making smoked salmon rolls

I saw a "philadelphia roll" at a restaurant which was smoked salmon and cream cheese but cream cheese on sushi freaks me out even though it goes great with smoked salmon

also i might consider tempura shrimp

protip: smoked salmon is only for shitty buffets because good fish would spoil

well it's a good way to practice if you don't want to waste expensive zushi-quality fish on a potentially disastrous first attempt.

also not everyone has access to zushi quality fish or the money to buy said fish all the time-UUUUUUUUUUU
