They copied the weapon ideas, where weapons go with dex. The classes ie clerics.
The role playing, the fighting.

One of the only reasons it is so popular is cuz it is free unlike Dungeons and Dragons online.

How so? Even if it was, I've played both d&d pen/paper and wow. Wow wasn't addictive for me. I just played it a few times to feel what is was like/ I was bored. I'd rather play d&d anyways.
Because it was written to appeal to wowfags and it further oversimplified an already-easy system.

I liked dnd 4th edition. I have some books. I haven't bought a pathfinder book, I only have the cd version. I like books because they are faster than cds. I just like using the cd instead of buying a book.
