What should I do? Guy problem.

Ok my "friend" keeps on wanting to hang out together. I put friend in quotations because it seems like he only wants to be friends when I'm single. I've hooked up with him a few times in the past but I'm really not interested in having relations right now.

He pretty much texts me every other day now with "What's up?" or something. I've been saying I'm busy for the past three weeks and sometimes I just ignore his texts or phone calls completely. School is almost over, so the lame "I have homework" excuse isn't going to cut it anymore.

I don't want to be a dick to him and say no, I don't want to hang out because we are kinda friends, but at the same time I don't want to hang out because he probably just assumes we're going to have sex. And really, to me it's kinda insulting that he only wants to be friends when I'm single. I really rather stay home and watch tv than hang out with him.

What should I do? Should I just keep ignoring him until he gets the hint or should I confront him or what?

I don't want to hang out with someone whom I'm friendly with, but he's pretty persistent in wanting to make plans together. I'd like to stay in good terms with him (ie I don't want a lot of drama). How can I gracefully get him to stop texting me things like "Are you free this weekend?" or "When do you want to hang out?"?

How thorough is his knowledge of your personal life? If he'd have no way of knowing otherwise just say you're trying to get with another guy and can't be hanging out with him. If he's too sensitive for that to not cause drama or he'd know it wasn't true then you could take something that he hates and feign interest in it. When he asks if you want to hang out just say that you're doing that. Other potential things you could do are: pretend to be going through a lesbian and/or asexual phase, pretend to be ultra depressed for a reason of your choosing and want nothing to do with anyone, or just ignore him completely (there can't be drama if you never respond back).

And, of course, there's always the option of crushing him mercilessly. There will be drama for the time immediately surrounding the crushing, but if you crush him right he'll just go away.

Well, he's friends with a few people that hate me so I don't really want to add fuel to those fires. I'm too lazy to be passive-aggressive. I think I'm just going to ignore him. It's not like we run in to each other at all.

And in all honesty I am sorta going through a lesbian and/or asexual phase and that's one of the reasons why I don't want to hang out with him, but I'm not gonna tell him that because that's really none of his business (plus, I don't want to be gossiped about).

He already "just wants to be friends". To this guy, being friends means occasional sexual favors. And when I was younger and slutty I didn't mind that, but now that I'm older, I do.

That stands to reason. It's too bad that you have people like that around in your social circle. People like that get to high school and then stop developing socially and just stay shallow and petty instead of moving on to the next stage. I know it drives me crazy when I get sucked into situations like that. It's just so tiresome. I can definitely empathize with your predicament.

Status update: Ever since I made this topic the dude hasn't texted me, called me, or sent me facebook messages. My only explanation is that he's secretly a member of this website. I was so looking forward to ignoring his messages though :(

He may have just found someone cheaper.
