Help forwarding ports

Ok. Im having trouble getting my NAT to open so I can play XBL whenever I want. Sometimes my 360 wont even connect to XBL, sometimes it will, but I wont be able to join a game, and sometimes it will connect, and Ill be able to get in a game instantly. I have a NETGEAR CGD24G. Its the modem/router that my ISP gave us.

I have my 360 hooked up on a wired connection, but the internet it gets comes from my laptop. I set the ethernet port to share on it. so I plug my 360 to there.

The result of that is not being able to connect to XBL at all.

What is the IP of the share interface on the laptop? It's probably different then the IP of the Xbox.

Thats probably where my problem is. My 360 IP ends in 28, so Ive been putting that, but Im not sure if thats what I actually need to put. Im at work now ,but Ill get the rest of the numbers when I get off.

Use the shared interface IP on the laptop. It'll most likely work. Then, invest in some network gear and avoid this mickey mouse configuration altogether.

I'll try that when I get home. And I've been meaning to get a wireless adapter for my 360. But the wu u have it setup worked fine for a while.
