I heard this is hard to do. But do you think it would be worth it? Or would no one want to read stuff that I am selling? I did not get high marks in school during essays and story class. In fact I got very low grades, some fails, especially when I got older.

That sounds cool. I remember we had blogs on zoints. But I don't know, people don't read my stuff as much unless I post it on casual discourse. How are you making money. Is it from ads? I think that is hard in some ways. Like for google adwords or something, they only pay if you don't have adult content on your site.Quote:

it used to be that it was much more difficult to get published. Now, even self-publishing is incredibly easy, but most people are too caught up in mainstream ways of making money (working in restaurants, warehouses etc.) to really consider outside-the-box solutions to their cash problems.
That is because I am not sure I could use it as a sole source of income. Like maybe I make some cash, but even still it is very uncertain how much I make. But even a job is hard for me to make enough hours to get by. Especially now with my hours cut, and my difficulties getting interviews/ jobs. The amount of time involved vs results. I may have to look at new sources to get by unlike before. Before I got enough hours that I might have not needed to think so seriously about things like writing books for income.

You have to center in on a specific topic you want to blog about, for example: Golf..
if someone searches for "golf" on google your blog will come up and that will generate traffic...
You just have to make sure to be an entertaining writer so people actually want to read your shit... then just put up some ads and it will eventually grow as you get more traffic... Rome wasn't built in a day.
Interesting, that stuff works for forums too? You just have to make sure it doesn't have adult content, as most advertisers don't like that as they might get less traffic from certain groups of people, right?
Yea if you're the owner of a a large forum, you can make revenue from the google ad and stuff.... but imo blogging is easier to start.... you can make one for free at worpress, blogger, etc.
There was recently an article I read on CNN Money talking about how many hedge fund managers were recognizing a severe undervaluation in book publishing and investment in book publishers. The reason is because the popularity of the iPad and tablets (which claim to function as eReaders) is killing sales of other true eReaders like the Amazon Kindle or Barnes and Noble Nook. Once people buy the tablets, they recognize the multimedia capabilities and tend not to buy ebooks since tablets are generally not good readers.
Basically, books are popular again and this is a good opportunity to cash in on the trend.
this is also an excellent time to buy book publisher stock because most of the big ones net something like 70% of $9.99+ kindle prices and after paying author royalties their costs are near nothing (except salaries and marketing)Quote:
