Did a little work on the Draco AK pistol

Yesterday, I decided to stain the handguards on my Draco something like the red you see on the Russian ones. I used a coat of minwax red chestnut, then wanted it darker, so I went over that with some Sherwin-Williams Wood Classics stain in bright cherry.
All followed by 3 coats of a marine varnish.

Looks like it's from straight out of the Cold War. It's just too bad you can't readily put a stock on it...

It actually CAME with an underfolder trunnion. And I do plan on getting it registered as an ABR one of these days. So all I need to do it have the receiver drilled, and put the stock on.
