Hulk #36 and Thunderbolts #160 were definitely above par. I mean Hulk and Thunderbolts are usually great reads but these two issues were A+ material. I think I'm in love with Jeff Parker. I love how he weaves in things he briefly touched upon months ago and turns them into major plot points.

I can't recommend Hulk and Thunderbolts enough. If you start reading Hulk and/or Thunderbolts and you like it, I suggest starting from the beginning of Parker's run on the titles (#25 and #144 respectfully). I hate how some writers always seem to write neat, self-enclosed 6 issue arcs, perfect for trade paper backs instead of fully embracing the comic book medium and writing each issue as an individual part of a long serialized story. Jeff Parker's style is most certainly the latter. There are things that have been hinted on for over a year in Thunderbolts that still have yet to come to fruition.

Yeah I was really surprised at how much I liked Hulk. Thunderbolts is leaps and bounds better than it's Norman Osborn days, but still not as good as its glory days (minus hawkeye leadership - fuck hawkeye). I wish they hadn't teased us with Baron Zemo in the Fear Itself prologue like that it just makes me nostalgic and sad.

Notes on last week's comics:

I really enjoyed Journey Into Mystery #625. It's one of the few crossovers that actually make Fear Itself seem interesting. I like how Kieron Gillen writes this new Loki.

I thought Fear Itself: Spider-Man #1 was fucking awful and issue #2 was ok, but this last issue was surprisingly enjoyable.

Batgirl #23, Red Robin #25, and Detective Comics #879 ranged from pretty damn good to fucking awesome. However, at the end of the week all I can think about is how fucking retarded DC reset is gonna be. There are so many stories that are left to be told (or in Batgirl's case, stories skipped over completely just to finish the over-arcing plot in time)

Ok, just read Duke Nukem. If you like Duke Nukem, it's good. However If you don't like Duke Nukem, it's utter garbage.

For the Duke Fan, It's full of almost enough Clichés to equal the mass of Duke's inflated ego. To add another one, this makes the comic so bad, it's good.

The art isn't too bad either!

I go once a month to the store (usually more, but it's easier to name my monthly comics)

I get Nightwing, Batman, Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Superman, JLA, Catwoman, and the Avenging Spider-man.

Getting #6 of each this month (with the exception of Spiderman, which is #4)

Occasionally I will pick up another FF comic, but I am two or three behind at the moment.

Rulk is in Avenging Spiderman, and I really enjoy him. I'm trying to get into more Marvel comics, as I'm currently almost strictly DC.

If you like Red Hulk you should really check out Hulk by Jeff Parker. It's one of my favorite comics. I looked at the solicitations for upcoming issues and #50 is being promoted as a great jumping on point. It should be released April 4th. I can remind you when it comes out if you're interested.

Also when you say "Occasionally I will pick up another FF comic, but I am two or three behind at the moment." are you talking about Marvel's FF? Because I don't see how you can occasionally pick up that comic and have any idea what is going on. I've been reading Fantastic Four/FF for almost 2 years and I'm still lost half the time.

I don't really understand the point of reading most DC comics. I mean sure marvel has its fair share of ret-cons, but the dc universe is reset like clockwork every 4-5 years. I might as well be reading Ultimate Spider-Man
